Why I booked Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan

Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan (롶스튜디오 광주수완점) is a photo studio in the Suwan area of Gwangju that I picked after seeing its work on Instagram. 2026 is already more than half over, but the ID photo I took last year stuck with me, and one day I suddenly wanted to record myself at 21. I rushed to search for studios on Instagram, and Rok Studio's work was totally my style. I booked right away 😆

Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan location and opening hours

Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan is at 163 Jangsin-ro, 3F Unit 1, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. It is open 11:00–20:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 11:00–19:00 on Saturday, and 13:00–19:00 on Sunday. It is closed on Thursday.

I had errands nearby and ended up with spare time, so I wanted to change my appointment time. Even in that short phone call, the photographer's kindness came through, haha.

What is the atmosphere inside Rok Studio like?

The inside of Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan is clean and bright, in white and wood tones. When I first walked in, it was so tidy and bright with its white tones that I was in a good mood even while waiting. The pretty, stylish interior is right there as soon as you come in 💕

The studio dog Kongtteok (콩떡이) 🤍 from the intro was not there. I'd honestly been looking forward to meeting him, so I was a little bit sad, hehe (I hope I get to meet him next time... I already feel close to him, lol).

I arrived even earlier than my changed time, so I sat in the area set up in the back, where I had fun looking at this little teddy bear 🧸

Snacks were set out in a neatly organized space. Overall the studio had a calm, pretty white-and-wood mood. Because I came early I only waited a moment; after finishing with the guests before me, the photographer guided me to the prep area ahead of my reserved time.

Can you get ready in a powder room before the shoot?

Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan has a separate powder room on one side, stocked with a curling iron, various combs, hairspray and other hair touch-up items. You can fix your hair and makeup and change clothes right before the shoot.

The powder room set up on one side was also super clean and pleasant ^^ My hair was messy from the wind on the walk over, and my makeup needed fixing, so being able to tidy up carefully in the mirror right before shooting, change clothes comfortably and get ready without rushing was so nice!

How were the ID photo shoot and retouching at Rok Studio?

The shooting space at Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan seems to be split into two areas, and the ID photo shoot was over very quickly. Thanks to the photographer's sense and professionalism, we snapped it really fast ☺️

I had a slight doubt (?) about whether the original shots came out pretty, haha, but the photographer's amazing skill made them turn out so well 👍 Hair I didn't have appeared, blush was added, even my jawline was trimmed! I worried it might be too much, or not enough, but before I could even say what to fix, the photographer, with an eagle eye, asked me about every little thing that still seemed lacking while doing the retouching (Bojeong), and I loved it so so so much!!!!!!! Hands of a god 💕💕💕 I think the photographer's very kind manner, replies and chats made me like it even more ♡

Is Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan worth going back to?

I'd return to Rok Studio Gwangju Suwan 100%. It was a bit far for someone without a car, but the results made up for it.

The results are so, so good that my whole day feels happier. As soon as I got my photos and walked out, I was so excited that I looked at them again and again right in the middle of the street, haha. Even at home I just kept staring at them, and the more I look, the more I love them 😽 It was a little far for me, on foot in hot weather (I honestly fell for the portfolio and booked without thinking about the distance), but whenever I need photos taken again, I'm definitely going to Rok Studio in Gwangju!! The best photo studio in Gwangju is Rok Studio!!!!!
