Chinese buffet in Yangju, two bowls of jjajangmyeon for kids: Harbin
In short
Harbin Chinese Buffet is a large Chinese-food buffet on Godeok-ro in Yangju, Gyeonggi. On a family visit with the kids, the table worked through jjajang, ganjjajang, ganjjamppong and usamgyeop jjamppong plus cream shrimp, chili shrimp, Sichuan tangsuyuk and Chinese-style japchae, and one child finished two full bowls of jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles). New dishes kept arriving at the counters throughout the meal, so small portions over many trips was the right way to eat at Harbin Chinese Buffet.

Harbin Chinese Buffet

Hi everyone, it's Natugi, the champion of eating and playing around.
I've been to plenty of buffets, but this was my first time at one that specializes purely in Chinese food. I went with my kids, who love jjajangmyeon from Chinese restaurants. Here's today's honest review, straight from the field.
The one-line verdict on Harbin Chinese Buffet

Let's get right into the honest — maybe too honest — review. START!

Inside and outside Harbin Chinese Buffet: is parking easy?

Harbin is a large buffet that specializes exclusively in Chinese menu items.
There's nothing more tiring than finding a great restaurant and then having nowhere to park once you arrive. Here, the parking lot is huge — zero parking stress.

Walking inside, the place is genuinely packed with Chinese food.

It's spacious enough to be great for company dinners or family gatherings too.

Eating at Harbin Chinese Buffet: what to put on your plate first

The key strategy here is grabbing small portions at a time, because new dishes keep coming out throughout the meal.
Usamgyeop bokkeum (stir-fried beef belly). Eating it with vegetables rather than just meat made it a great match with rice. If you like the bold, heavy seasoning typical of Chinese food, this is an easy one to enjoy.

Rajogi (spicy fried chicken). If you like chicken, this is the one to try. Personally, I'll take tangsuyuk over rajogi any day!
Yangjangpi (cold noodle salad platter). Tangy with lots of different textures — great to have alongside fried dishes for a palate cleanser.

Mapo tofu. Big chunks of tofu with a red sauce full of chili and scallions, great with rice.

Cream shrimp and fried rice. My kid, being a total jjemin (little rascal), asked to try cream shrimp — and finally, we found it here! Ate it up happily.

Chili shrimp. Spicy and crispy — really good.

The best part is that the food keeps getting refilled with new dishes. I recommend trying a bit of everything, little by little.

Crab soup. Visiting with kids, I liked that we could pick softer dishes instead of only the spicy, heavy stuff.

It didn't feel like a fancy Chinese restaurant, more like a place where you can freely help yourself to Chinese food — which made it feel warmer and more comfortable, in a good way.
The noodles: ganjjamppong, jjajang and ganjjajang

Ganjjamppong (dry-style spicy seafood noodles). Lots of Chinese restaurants don't even have ganjjamppong, but Harbin has it.

Usamgyeop jjamppong (spicy noodle soup with beef belly). Spicy~ Jjamppong is my all-time favorite so I never skip it, and this one is properly spicy.

Jjajang (black bean noodles). My kid said it was so good and ate two whole bowls, haha. A little rascal who came to a buffet just to eat jjajangmyeon.

Kongguksu (cold soy milk noodles). It came out late and I was already too full to eat it.

Ganjjajang (dry-style black bean noodles). A different charm from regular jjajang — I had this one, and the crunchy texture of the onions was so good.

Eggplant fritters. Since the menu keeps changing, you can't help but try everything — my hand just kept reaching for more. Definitely go for small portions, many times!

Chinese-style japchae — even the glass noodles were the Chinese kind.

Sichuan tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). A spicy version with a different charm from the regular tangsuyuk.
Nanja wans (meatball dish). Honestly, by this point I couldn't eat any more — my stomach was already full~
Sautéed mushrooms. I love mushrooms, why did they only come out now... T_T
Ganpunggi (crispy sweet-spicy chicken). It came out piping hot and fresh, but at 100% stomach capacity, I could only look at it with my eyes.

You can't even tell how much my kid enjoyed eating — we had a proper feast of Chinese food after a long while.
