Izawa Sangam is a gyukatsu restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, serving breaded beef cutlets and Japanese dishes. My husband and I had the gyukatsu double and cold soba for a late weekday lunch, and the tender meat with chilled noodles was an especially good pairing. Verdict: a place I’d happily revisit when I’m craving gyukatsu in Sangam.
On the Rail is a bakery café near Imjingak in Paju, Gyeonggi, with a railway beside a spacious outdoor garden. I had an Americano, sweet potato latte, green onion cheese toast, and salt bread while watching the scenery change from green daytime views to sunset and illuminated evening paths. Verdict: a lovely place to linger after an Imjingak outing.
