Burger brunch after a Yeouido Park run: less-salt order at Dumburger

Dumburger Yeouido (덤버거 여의도점) is an American-style handmade burger restaurant near Exit 1 of Saetgang Station, right behind the KBS Annex in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. After a weekend morning run in Yeouido Park, the writer and her partner had brunch there, ordering a Double Pizza Cheeseburger and a cheeseburger set with the 'less salt, please' option, and found the seasoning just right. The couple rank Dumburger Yeouido as the best handmade burger in Yeouido and promise to return.

Suwon Station weekday date bar for yukhoe and Maehwasu: Yukhoe Dokjon

Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch is a Korean bar specializing in chilled hanwoo (Korean beef) yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) and beef sashimi, on Culture Street near Suwon Station Exit 8 in Suwon, Gyeonggi. On a Wednesday evening date, the writer had the signature hanwoo yukhoe platter and 10 pieces of beef sashimi hanwoo sushi with a bottle of Maehwasu (Korean plum liquor), and the complimentary fish cake broth, kept hot to the last sip over a candle, stood out. Yukhoe Dokjon is a good Suwon Station pick for fresh chilled yukhoe and a light drink.

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters AK Plaza Suwon is a roastery café on the 3rd floor of AK Plaza, which connects directly to Suwon Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi. The writer stopped in during a summer clothes shopping trip for the signature coconut coffee and a coconut lamington, and browsed the goods corner stocked with Suwoni the frog merchandise. Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters is a good place to rest when shopping wears you out, and the coconut coffee with coconut lamington pairing comes highly recommended.

Dongtan Central Park noodle restaurant, no 2pm wait: Chunsik Kalguksu

Chunsik Kalguksu Dongtan Main Branch is a green-fronted fusion kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) restaurant next to Dongtan Central Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. Arriving just after 2pm with her sister after a swim, the writer walked in with no wait and ordered the Korean beef tripe kalguksu and the stir-fried soybean paste bibim kalguksu, and the owner sent out a plate of aged salmon sashimi on the house. The tripe kept turning up in the bowl no matter how much they ate, making Chunsik Kalguksu an easy lunch pick near Dongtan Central Park.
