Gangnam Station waxing salon: hairline and sideburn wax at Nu Waxing

Nu Waxing & Brow is a waxing salon on the 7th floor of the Misso building at Gangnam Station in Seoul, and the writer visits it from time to time. Two months after the last session, the writer had a hairline and sideburn face wax at Nu Waxing & Brow while seated and watching in a mirror; only the stray baby hairs were narrowly tidied, it took under a minute, and the pain was bearable. For good-value face waxing in Gangnam, Nu Waxing & Brow is worth going back to.

Daehangno Taiwanese restaurant date: eggplant bowl even haters eat

Cheonghwawon Daehangno Branch is a Taiwanese beef noodle and dim sum restaurant on Daemyeong-gil in Jongno, Seoul, where a chef from Taiwan reportedly does the cooking. On a Daehangno lunch date, the couple ordered beef knife-cut noodles, crystal dumplings, a fish-fragrant eggplant rice bowl and cucumber salad. The eggplant rice bowl was not what they had ordered, yet it was so good that even a companion who dislikes eggplant enjoyed it. Portions at Cheonghwawon Daehangno Branch are generous, so two people are well fed with 2 mains and 1 side.

Munjeong-dong flower shop: white gerbera and panicum S bouquet, Habio

Habio Flower by Su is a flower shop in the Park Habio complex in Munjeong-dong, Songpa, Seoul, selling both cut flowers and potted plants. The writer booked a 60,000 won S-size white and green bouquet through Naver Booking and picked it up; white gerberas, lisianthus and green carnations, with thlaspi and panicum, made it as full as a medium size. Habio Flower by Su's S-size bouquet has plenty of volume for anyone looking for a clean, elegant gift bouquet.

Sojei Seoul Flagship Store (소제이 서울본점) is a retro-style Korean beef restaurant in the Nonhyeon food alley, near Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two diners shared 500g of LA flower ribs (cross-cut beef short ribs, 57,000 won), a taster-size braised oxtail (33,000 won) and yukhoe bibimbap (8,000 won). The highlights were the LA flower ribs grilled by staff to the very end and paired with scallion pesto sauce, refillable homemade side dishes and complimentary yukhoe (Korean beef tartare). Unagiwa is an eel rice bowl restaurant on the 2nd floor at Bongeunsa-ro 30-gil, a 3-minute walk from Exits 7 and 8 of Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul.
