Today is local election day, so I finally got a Wednesday off, and I'm so happy^^ I really hope a four-day work week comes soon! With that wish, let's start today's post~ Today I visited HUSK, a cozy café in Eunhaeng-dong, Daejeon!! haha Daejeon is famous for its bakery pilgrimages, and I think that's why it has so many good cafés too~

How do you find the HUSK sign in Eunhaeng-dong, Daejeon?
HUSK is at 294 Bomun-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon, on the first floor. Look for a building in a color somewhere between pink and brown. The sign is easy to miss: "husk" is written small on one side of the building wall.
These days hidden or signless trendy cafés and restaurants are all the rage, haha, though the trend feels a bit past its peak lol. The HUSK I visited can be hard to spot too, so keep your eyes wide open!! Look for the building in that pink-brown color. "husk" is cutely written on one side of the wall, haha.

HUSK opening hours and brunch order times
HUSK is open from 10:00 to 19:00 and closed on Tuesdays. You can use it as a café like I did, but please note that brunch can be ordered from the morning until 15:00 haha.

HUSK menu and prices
The HUSK menu is split into three sheets (coffee, drinks and desserts, and brunch) and has a cute hand-drawn design. An iced americano is ₩4,500, and desserts start from ₩5,500.
The menu is so cute haha. The first small sheet is coffee, the second is drinks and desserts, and the last plate is the brunch menu~ I wondered whether they drew the pictures themselves, because it was such a cute menu :)

The brunch is Danish home-style, with soup, meatballs, jambon (Korean-style ham) and ricotta tomato, among others. The prices are friendly and there were a lot of dishes I'd never seen before, so I was curious haha.
We ordered two iced americanos and, from the dessert menu, a cheesecake and a cream cheese toast~ The iced americano was ₩4,500 and desserts start from ₩5,500, so there were lots of good-value items haha.

What is the atmosphere like at HUSK?
HUSK is a cozy, charming space with an open kitchen, so you can watch the cooking in the kitchen. There's also a guestbook notebook with colored pencils.
The space is so cute and full of charm that it's a great café for taking photos with friends or having a nice chat haha. And there was a notebook and colored pencils for leaving a guestbook message! haha

Also, HUSK has an open kitchen, so you can see the staff cooking, haha. I liked that too!! Overall the interior had a really stylish feel~ so lots of young people come here^^

How do HUSK's cheesecake and cream cheese toast taste?
HUSK's cheesecake is shaped like a cat or a ribbon and has a very rich cream, while the cream cheese toast tops a baguette with purée, cream cheese and blueberries for a fresh, sweet bite. Both went well with the iced americano.
Our coffee and desserts all came out haha. The cheesecake is pretty, looking like a cat shape and a ribbon shape at the same time haha. The cheesecake cream was super rich and delicious~
The cream cheese toast has purée, cream cheese and blueberries on top of a baguette~ It was so fresh and sweet!! haha Both the cheesecake and the cream cheese toast paired well with the coffee haha.

After trying the desserts, I bet HUSK's brunch is really good too, and I'm sad I couldn't try it T.T The owner also keeps blankets on one side for people who get cold from the air conditioning haha. That's such a thoughtful touch!!

HUSK location: close to the Eunhaeng-dong underground shopping arcade
HUSK is close to the Eunhaeng-dong underground shopping arcade in Daejeon, so it's a nice place to stop for a coffee after browsing the arcade. Next time I'll visit HUSK for brunch~ Browsing the underground arcade and having a coffee at the café would be perfect!! haha
