Geumjeong sushi restaurant with kids’ cutlet set: Moshi Moshi

Over the weekend, I had dinner at Moshi Moshi PNU Branch (모시모시 부산대점) with my two children. It was convenient for a family meal because the adults could have sushi while the children had pork cutlet and udon at the same table.

Where is Moshi Moshi PNU Branch, and is parking available?

The restaurant is on the first floor at 271-5 Geumgang-ro, Geumjeong-gu, Busan. I have been coming here for more than 10 years; I used to visit with my husband when we were dating whenever we wanted sushi.

There is a parking lot right beside the restaurant. We did not bring a car that day because we planned to have drinks with our meal.

Photos of the menu at the entrance let us look over the options and prices before going in. The original post lists hours as 11:00–21:30, with a 15:30–16:30 break time except on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations and takeout are also available.

Are there seats and high chairs for children?

We arrived around 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday, and there were already quite a few guests. The interior was spacious enough for group meals, and there were about three high chairs. I reserved in advance for two adults and two children, and we were seated by the window.

From the kitchen at the back of the restaurant, I could see sushi being made as orders came in.

What did our family order, and how much was it?

Besides sushi, there were à la carte dishes and courses. I had tried a hansang set (a full table set meal) before, so this time we each ordered sushi we liked, plus one children’s pork cutlet set for the kids.

How were the salads served before the sushi?

A basic salad arrived first after we ordered. The cabbage, lettuce, and carrot were crisp, and the tangy mustard-based dressing made it light and easy to eat.

A tofu salad also arrived. Soft tofu was generously topped with nutty sesame dressing, while the sprouts on top added a crisp texture.

As we ate the salads, the sushi, the children’s pork cutlet, and udon arrived together.

How did the salmon and flounder sushi taste?

The salmon sushi and white-fleshed fish sushi came with 10 pieces each. The salmon was cut thick and long over the rice.

Dipped in soy sauce, the salmon sushi was moist, soft, and rich.

Adding shredded onion dressed in sauce gave it a fresher flavor. It tasted different from eating it plain, so I alternated between the two and asked for extra sauce.

The white-fleshed fish sushi that day was flounder. The flounder sashimi was also thick and long.

The flounder had a pleasantly chewy texture that went well with the sushi rice. It was fun to alternate it with the soft salmon, and we also ordered one bottle each of soju and beer to have alongside it.

What comes with the children’s pork cutlet set?

The children’s pork cutlet set included rice, pork cutlet, salad, and a bowl of udon. Last time, we ordered one set for each child and found it too much, so this time we ordered one to share. For my children, it was a generous portion.

The pork cutlet had a crisp exterior and thick meat inside.

The udon had hot broth and springy noodles, and the children ate it well.

Does the sushi come with fried items?

The sushi we ordered that day also came with fried shrimp, eggplant, and kabocha squash. I liked being able to try a little of all three.

What made it convenient for a family meal?

What was most convenient was that the adults could eat sushi while the children ate pork cutlet and udon. The high chairs and our reserved table also made it nice to eat together. The menu also included udon, memil noodles, and chashu, so there were options beyond sushi.
