What do you get with the “Better Things” sushi platter?

I ordered one “Better Things” sushi platter, one salmon + flounder sushi set, and one assorted tempura. The sushi platter had long, generously sized slices of raw fish on top, with a varied selection of sushi.

The sushi platter was in the low ₩20,000 range. The sushi came neatly arranged with salad, udon, tempura, and tofu, which made it a satisfying complete meal.

Of the sides, the creamy tofu stood out most to me. It was smooth and easy to eat, and it also felt gentle on my stomach.

The udon contained tempura crumbs, mushrooms, scallions, and yubu (seasoned fried tofu). It came in a regular udon bowl rather than as a small side, with enough volume to feel like a serving on its own.

The sushi selection included flounder, salmon, tuna, abalone, marinated shrimp, and eel. I chose this platter because I wanted to try each of several ingredients, and it matched that expectation well.

I also enjoyed the eel sushi. The sushi platter was a good choice when I wanted both several kinds of sushi and side dishes.

How many pieces are in the salmon + flounder sushi set?

The salmon + flounder sushi set had 10 pieces total. I ordered it separately because I like both salmon and flounder, and I especially liked the chewy texture of the flounder.

Both the salmon and flounder tasted fresh, and the flounder’s springy texture stayed with me as I chewed it.

The batter was crisp and savory. It did not feel overly oily, and it was nice dipped in the sauce served alongside it. Adding tempura to the sushi made for a substantial lunch.
