Refilling the dried radish banchan at the self-serve bar, again and again
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch has a self-serve bar where you can help yourself to kimchi, dried radish, and spicy pepper ssamjang.

The dried radish was so crunchy and exactly my style that I went back for more several times haha.

How the rich sagol pork noodles for 10,000 won tasted
I ordered the sagol pork noodles for 10,000 won. It comes with a rich sagol broth and a generous amount of Jeju pork on top, making it a hearty bowl.

While looking for good pork noodles during my Jeju trip, I visited Handam Gogi Guksu and it turned out to be more satisfying than I expected. The place was clean and comfortable, so eating alone felt no problem at all, and the staff were friendly, which made for a pleasant start to the meal.
The most impressive part of the pork noodles I ordered was the deeply simmered broth. There was almost no gamy pork smell, and the deep, clean flavor came together so well that I enjoyed every spoonful down to the last. The noodles had just the right springiness and paired well with the broth, and the generous amount of pork was soft and moist, with a savory flavor that came through more the more I chewed.
Adding the kimchi and seasoning provided alongside brought out even more flavor in the broth and let me enjoy it in a different way, and I liked being able to adjust the seasoning to my taste. The portion was generous enough that one bowl alone was a filling meal.
Among the many pork noodle places you can find around Jeju, this one stood out for its well-rounded broth and the freshness of its ingredients, which left me very satisfied. The clean yet rich broth, tender pork, and chewy noodles came together so well that I'd want to come back if I visit Jeju again. I'd confidently recommend Handam Gogi Guksu to anyone who wants to properly taste local Jeju flavors.

If you need a hearty meal near Aewol
Even after finishing my meal, the deep flavor of the broth lingered pleasantly in my mouth and stayed with me. Eating there in person made it clear why not just tourists but also locals frequent this place, and it felt like good value for the price. If you're looking for a hearty meal near Aewol in Jeju, I'd recommend this as a place you can visit without worry. It's somewhere I'd want to return to whenever I crave a warm noodle soup while traveling, and a meal that families or friends could all enjoy together.
