Where is Jongga Mandu, and what time does the wait start?
Jongga Mandu sits near Cheonggyecheon stream, a 5-minute walk from Euljiro 3-ga Station on the trendy hip-jiro street. There are tons of good restaurants nearby! The customers ranged widely from older folks to younger crowds.

There are waiting chairs and a sign-up list outside. I arrived around 5:30pm with no wait, but by 6pm the line got long... I guess mandu hot pot is something everyone loves, young and old haha.

They also sell soy bean noodle soup and bibim kalguksu. By around 6:30pm there were 3-4 groups waiting. Some people were drinking too, so it was pretty lively!

Inside, the tables are neat and spacing between them is decent.

Ordering is done via kiosk, which is convenient. Most people order the mandu hot pot, and you can choose half-and-half / mild / spicy broth. Minimum order is for two people.

At the entrance, you can watch them stuffing the dumpling filling into the wrappers by hand. Dumplings made that same day are just so precious and delicious... ♥
What comes with the 26,000-won clear mandu hot pot for two?

Jongga Mandu's signature dish is the mandu hot pot. Since I can't handle spice, I ordered the mild version for two. ₩26,000 is such a good price, right? haha There are also side dishes like fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, and fried shrimp, plus you can add extra meat, dumplings, or vegetables! Such a lovely menu for a dumpling hot pot restaurant near Jongno 3-ga Station!

The base setup is generous. Meat, mixed mushrooms, vegetables, kalguksu noodles, dumplings — all that for this price for two people... value for money is insane!

I loved that there were 4 different types of mushrooms. I'm a mushroom fanatic..!!

And the dumplings are made that same day, so pretty, right? They also gave us kalguksu noodles so we could fill up on carbs too haha.

The basic side dishes are fresh cut kimchi and pickled radish. The kimchi had a nice tangy kick haha, went really well with the mandu hot pot~

The best order to eat the dumpling hot pot
You get 8 dumplings for two people — put in 4 first, then add the other 4 later. Once they cook, they fall apart faster than you'd think. I put in all the vegetables and meat at once. Eat the shabu-style meat first, then the vegetables, and by then the dumplings should be cooked.
Such a generous portion, as you can see in the video too haha. That's why there were so many older customers, and it was worth the wait for the value!!
I ate the meat, vegetables, and mushrooms first, then threw in the kalguksu noodles and boiled it all together.

How do the meat and kimchi dumplings taste?
After eating 2 dumplings, I added the remaining 4 to cook. The dumplings were bigger than expected... I got full after eating 3 haha.
Meat mandu is the classic, of course. Inside felt like crunchy chives, onion, and maybe napa cabbage, and the vegetables tasted genuinely fresh, which I loved.
Kimchi mandu isn't very spicy, but for someone who can't handle spice like me, it still had a kick! But the kimchi was crunchy and there was quite a lot of meat. This one was also really delicious.

The self-service zone has scissors, tongs, cups, side dishes, and wet wipes, all free to grab as needed~
They kept making and serving fresh dumplings throughout. Watching it happen right in front of you makes it look even more delicious... I almost wanted to take some home. ♥

They also have cute dumpling-shaped keyrings haha. 2 for ₩5,000 is a nice price too?! Looks like the owner designed them personally!

When I came out, the waiting list was completely full ㅠㅠㅠ Popular restaurants really are different...
Is Jongga Mandu worth a visit? Final verdict
- The dumplings are the plump, generously-filled king mandu style
- Both kimchi and meat versions are delicious
- A healthy restaurant with excellent value for money
