At Anmin Jung-dong (안민 중동), a Korean BBQ restaurant in Jungdong, Changwon, the place was full on a weekday evening and people were waiting outside. Every time I pass through Jungdong it's packed with a long wait, so I'd been curious about this BBQ spot!
My husband kept telling me how good it is, so I really wanted to try it, and I finally went 🙌 Even on a weekday evening it was full inside with a waitlist, haha. Everybody was standing outside waiting, you know? ❓ After eating, I totally understood why the wait is so long!

Even though it's a BBQ restaurant, Anmin Jung-dong has a clean, atmospheric interior like a stylish café, so it's great for a date too. I was surprised the moment I walked in because it's so pretty! When you think of a BBQ place you usually picture greasy and crowded, but this one is neat and moody like a café. It has a date-night feel and I love it ❣️

The whole-pig half set at Anmin Jung-dong is 450g for ₩39,500. We ordered it first ‼️ It seemed like a decent amount, and I figured we'd order more if it wasn't enough.
The meat is super thick ‼️ And the quality was honestly top-notch ‼️
Do the staff at Anmin Jung-dong grill everything for you?
At Anmin Jung-dong, the staff carefully grill the meat from start to finish, so all you have to do is eat. This was the part I liked even more.
I'm bad at grilling meat, so my husband always ends up grilling and never gets to eat, poor guy. Having it grilled golden and juicy for us was so comfortable and delicious ❣️ Interestingly, the grilling setup is neatly arranged at every table for the staff, which made me trust them even more!!
They say they don't grill it too hard, to keep the flavor. I usually don't like meat that's underdone, but I had no problem with it at all! The meat even looks different, you know?
I was especially touched by the thoughtful service that lets you eat the finished meat warm to the very end 🥹 I've never been to a place like this! The taste is one thing, but little details like this really make the difference!
Side dishes and dipping sauces: which was the best?
The side dishes and dipping sauces at Anmin Jung-dong were all delicious, and the scallion kimchi and salt were my favorites. Seriously high quality 👍
I especially loved the scallion kimchi. All the dipping sauces are good, but honestly the salt was my favorite, haha. The meat itself is just so good 🤣

Is the whole-pig half set enough for two people?
Maybe because the meat is so thick, the whole-pig half set at Anmin Jung-dong was more food than I expected, and the half set alone left the two of us full! But you need a stew when you eat meat, right, haha. Today it was soft tofu stew and steamed egg!!

The soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) at Anmin Jung-dong is packed with kimchi, so the broth is tangy and spicy, a bit unusual, and it goes perfectly with the meat ‼️ My husband's eyes went wide after one bite and he scooped it up without even breathing 🤣 The fluffy steamed egg (gyeran-jjim) was salty and soft too, a truly perfect meal!
We were so full that we couldn't order more meat, and I'm still a little sad about it, haha.
