Why I headed to a Wonheung Station bossam restaurant after hiking Bukhansan
A few days ago I hiked Bukhansan with my husband, then refueled with bossam (boiled pork wraps) at Park Man-bae Arirang Bossam, Wonheung Station Branch (박만배아리랑보쌈 원흥역점). I'd loved the Bukhansan trail I did last time with the moms from my neighborhood, so on my husband's day off we climbed it together! Haha ⛰️ Sure enough, he said sweating it out felt so refreshing ^^
After all that exercise, we went to a Wonheung Station favorite to really recharge!! And it is...

After a workout, protein is a must, right? Haha So I thought of Park Man-bae Arirang Bossam, Wonheung Station Branch, where I'd eaten once before, and went back.^^
Does Park Man-bae Arirang Bossam in Wonheung give you something free with bossam?
When you order bossam here, they give you kalguksu or makguksu for free!👍 Honey-sweet bossam after a hike!! When I went right after it opened, the tenderness of the gabrisal bossam really stuck with me, you know?
And my husband tried it and said it tastes like those bossam places in other areas where people line up 👍 He said it's so good, haha. What I especially love is that this Wonheung favorite gives you kalguksu or makguksu for free when you order bossam!
Small gabrisal half-and-half bossam: it really melts in your mouth
Park Man-bae Arirang Bossam has kimchi bossam, napa cabbage bossam, half-and-half bossam, oyster bossam, hongeo samhap (fermented skate combo), and even seafood clam kalguksu!! With so many options, picking is half the fun, haha. After some agonizing, we ordered the small half-and-half bossam plus makguksu!
One bite and "wow, it's so tender" just slipped out 😂 It has that signature chew of gabrisal, with a really good balance of fat and lean, so it isn't tough at all, just soft and melting.ㅎ

Wrapping it with bossam kimchi and radish kimchi, switching back and forth, is seriously the best👍👍👍
My husband kept marveling too, saying "this place is the real deal" 🤭
How was the bossam and makguksu combo?
The makguksu here has a sweet-and-sour sauce that isn't overdone, a clean style that really wakes up your appetite. Eating bossam without makguksu would feel wrong!😆 It's perfect for a Wonheung Station lunch too.
Take a bite between pieces of meat and your mouth feels reset, so the meat keeps going down!! Haha Wrapping the noodles in meat is heavenly too!! Hehe, I know my food, so I'm happy. Hahaha Bossam + makguksu really is a formula, I felt that again ㅎㅎ

It looked perfect for family meals or get-togethers with friends! With so much space, it felt comfortable without being crowded, which made me even happier 😊 They even have high chairs, so there's no worry about bringing little ones ㅎ

Park Man-bae Arirang Bossam is also perfect for a company dinner in Wonheung, Goyang. Its gabrisal bossam is the specialty, and the meat quality feels clearly different, as in "can bossam really be this tender?"!!! Go once and you'll probably end up going back again like me 😆

Maybe it tasted even better because I was starving after the hike, but the meat itself here is so good, with not a trace of gamey smell, that I can recommend it with confidence 👍 If you like bossam, especially tender meat, definitely give it a try!😄❤️
