Where is Sinseong Agujjim Asan Branch, and where can you park?

Sinseong Agujjim Asan Branch (신성아구찜 아산점) is close to Asan Terminal, so it's easy to reach, and parking is easy too: there are always one or two spots in the row of parallel parking in front of Dongsin Elementary School. It had been a while, so on a lovely day my sister and I headed out to this Mojong-dong monkfish stew place ^^^^ So easy to get to, being near Asan Terminal, haha. And the parking in front of Dongsin Elementary is great too, hehe!

Can you arrive before Sinseong Agujjim opens?

Sinseong Agujjim Asan Branch opens at 11:00, but we walked in at 10:40. Seriously?? Haha. Sorry!!! ^^ Even before opening the place was already spotless, and the kind owner welcomed us in ♡ It made me trust the place even more!

The kitchen was still prepping ingredients for opening, so we waited until the real opening time and ordered ahead!! We went easy with a small boneless monkfish stew~!!! I was curious about the basic lineup, so we added no extra seafood, and I saved the fried rice for the very end, because I was absolutely going to eat it, haha.

Is Sinseong Agujjim good for a family meal with kids?

Sinseong Agujjim Asan Branch also has a kids' pork cutlet and a flying fish roe rice ball, so it looked great for families with children. They have baby chairs, and the hall is pleasant and bright, which I loved!!!!

What side dishes come with Sinseong Agujjim?

The side dishes are seaweed soup, white kimchi, cabbage salad, gungchae jangajji (pickled stem lettuce) and seaweed salad. Is it the seaweed? The soup had a properly sweet seaweed flavor, and the whole spread goes so well with monkfish stew ^^ I started with the soup to warm my stomach, slurp slurp.

The owners are father and son, and both are so kind and so sweet ㅠ.ㅠ I love it!!!!

I ordered the boneless monkfish stew at regular spice, but you could go one level up. We've been avoiding spicy food lately, so we chose regular, but next time I'm definitely going one step hotter ^^ (meaning I'll be back ^^)

What's in a small boneless monkfish stew

The small boneless monkfish stew comes with plenty of plump boneless monkfish, plus bean sprouts, water dropwort (minari), cheese rice cakes, sweet potato rice cakes, gonie (monkfish roe) and ormande (sea squirts). Even I, who can't really handle seafood, could eat it comfortably, which is so nice ^^^^ I saw other guests add squid, so next time I'll try adding squid or octopus too ^^

Boneless vs bone-in monkfish stew: how was the first try?

It was my first boneless monkfish stew and wow, it's so easy!!! After only ever eating the bone-in kind, this was a whole new world. You really do have to try things you haven't tried yet !!!!! Boneless monkfish stew, oh my.. Please have it at Sinseong Agujjim, the Mojong-dong place that does monkfish stew right!

Gonie ^^ Hearing "Gonie", all I knew was the character from the movie Tazza.. but I've left behind my childhood of not being able to eat it, haha. Honestly I still can't really enjoy it, but I've improved to the point where I don't force it out, hehe. This is all thanks to my sister!

A kind sibling who hands over the rice cakes

I'm a total rice cake girl and I'm crazy about tteokbokki, and at Sinseong Agujjim my sister picked out the rice cakes and piled them up for me ^^^^ I wish they had an extra rice cake add-on too, hahahahahaha

Omandungi (sea squirt): love it or hate it

Ormande. Haha. Bite in and the juice squirts out! So this is the taste of the sea~~~~~ Ormande really divides people, haha. But people who like it even order extra! That crunchy texture too, it's a fun one ^^

How to enjoy boneless monkfish stew with wasabi soy sauce

Dunk the boneless monkfish deep into soy sauce loaded with wasabi and enjoy the nose-tingling kick!! My sister, who really knows her food, added even more wasabi!

Is Sinseong Agujjim's fried rice worth it even when you're full?

In the reviews of Sinseong Agujjim Asan Branch everyone says you must have the fried rice, so even though we were full, we added one ㅠㅠ How could we not~~~~!! *^^* The son took some of the sauce away, saying "We'll fry it up nicely for you~~~^^" and he was just an angel...

Look at this, how could anyone not like it.... For the fried rice alone, I'm going one level hotter next time !!!!! They also asked whether to put the fried rice on the monkfish plate or just leave it on its own plate, so it seems some people pour it into the sauce and mix it up!! I'll try that next time!!!! This place really won me over with the boneless monkfish stew, then with the owners, and then won me over again with this fried rice..........

Says she's full, then finishes a whole plate of fried rice in no time, what a class act. We ate well and happily, so now off to get coffee !!! ^^
