Weekend couple's table at a Gwacheon seaweed soup restaurant: Haenon
Haenon Miyeok Gwacheon Direct Branch (해논미역 과천직영점) is a seaweed soup restaurant on a back street in Munwon-dong, Gwacheon, Gyeonggi. For weekend lunch a couple ordered one sea urchin roe seaweed soup and one scallop-abalone seaweed soup, each served as a full set with tot rice (seaweed fusiforme rice), fried eggplant, flounder gangjeong (sweet crispy fish) and japchae (glass noodle stir-fry); the portions were so large that the leftover soup went home in a 1,000 won container. Rich broth with no fishy smell and tasty banchan made the meal at Haenon Miyeok feel like a birthday spread.
