Gangnam hair salon: deep ash brown tone-down for patchy DIY dye, Biorn

This time I went to a hair salon to get my hair dyed, as a bit of a mood refresher 💆🏻‍♀️ I do dye my hair myself every now and then, but I'd never had it done at a salon... and wow, I was reminded again that salon dye is on a totally different level from DIY. Oh my god.. can you see how clean and even the tone is? Let's go straight to the review of where I got it done 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

How do you get to Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo?

Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo is on the 3rd floor of a building you reach by walking straight down the alley from Apgujeongnodeo Station. The salon I visited as my go-to for dye is Biorn Hair 💈 I took the subway, and it's a really easy place to find.

As you can see on the map, whichever exit you come out of at Apgujeongnodeo Station, it's easy to find. Just keep walking straight down the alley, and when you reach the building, head up to the 3rd floor -! 😌

That day I walked from Exit 5 of Apgujeongnodeo Station. After coming out of the exit, you walk straight down the alley behind it and you'll get there. At my pace it took about 3 minutes 🚶🏻‍♀️

There's a staircase going up on the side of the building! Just keep climbing. The stairs also say "Biorn Hair", so you won't have any trouble finding it, hehe

Keep going up, open the door on the right, and that's Biorn Hair! Just walk right in 👀 The staff were super friendly and welcomed me warmly, aww

The restroom is outside the salon, and it's not a shared one, it's separate for men and women 🍀

What were the interior and service like at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo?

The inside of Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo was pleasant and tidy, and as soon as I arrived the staff put my belongings in a locker for me. You know a salon needs to give a good first impression the moment you open the door, right(?) The interior was really pleasant and clean. And it was cool inside, which made me happy haha. Everyone greeted me warmly the moment I arrived and even stored my things in a locker by hand 👀

The designer who did my hair that day! She looked like a rabbit that hopped out of a storybook. And she was so, so careful and kind.. 💗 If you visit Biorn Hair, I highly, highly, highly, highly recommend getting your hair done by her. Her hands are fast and she's super thorough. She also gave me a scalp massage while washing my hair, and it was honestly paradise. Gosh, it felt so good,, I couldn't help making noises,, the designer is truly the best 🥺🥺

What color was recommended for hair patchy from self-dyeing?

For my hair, a jumble of colors from nothing but DIY dye, the Biorn Hair designer recommended a dark ash brown (deep ash brown) with no yellow or red tones. Here's my hair before the dye! Maybe it's because I only ever self-dye haha (of course), but it looked like 🐶 fur, with a messy mix of tones and a really scruffy look. It wasn't even two-tone, it was practically three-tone, four-tone, five-tone .. haha I'm amazed the designer didn't sigh when she saw it,,

I'd had a volume magic (straightening perm) half a year ago, but my hair was still curly and damaged, a total disaster. I couldn't decide what color to go with, and the designer recommended a dark ash brown! A dark brown with no yellow or red tones! 😋 She even showed me a photo of the color, and it looked luxurious rather than messy even as it grows out,, 👀 Before applying the dye, she also quickly put on a scalp protector that felt super cooling on my scalp 😳

How did the deep ash brown dye process go?

After the scalp protector, she picked up the hair strand by strand with a tail comb and applied the dye quickly, then I waited about 20 minutes. Here's the dye being applied! My hair looked like a round lid pressed down under the dye, hehe I have really thick hair, but she didn't miss a single strand, catching everything with the tip of the tail comb and applying the dye super fast ! ! ! Sitting and waiting at a salon is normally really, really, really hard, right! But I didn't feel it was tough for even a minute 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can you tell from the back that the dye was applied thoroughly haha I waited about 20 minutes like this! 😚 As I said earlier, she also washed my hair very quickly, refreshingly and thoroughly. Truly the best,, 😍 My ears are always sensitive because of my piercings, and she washed that area so carefully too, I was so, so grateful ,, 😙

How were the tone-down result and hair texture?

The deep ash brown dye from Biorn Hair toned my hair down evenly with no patchiness, and thanks to the essence finish my hair has stayed soft even after dyeing. Here's a side view! Isn't the color totally pretty and clean,, I really, really, really love it,, 🥰 She dried my hair thoroughly and applied an essence to make it super soft. Dyeing usually damages hair a lot, but it's stayed soft all this time,, ☺️

Even from the back, doesn't my hair look silky and soft,, It used to look so scruffy, but now the tone-down is even, so my hair looks healthy and in good condition. So, so, so satisfied.. 😌💕 Thank you for the clean tone-down on my pretty hair 👀
