In short
Baekok Yongsan is a pork gomtang (bone broth soup) restaurant on Hangang-daero 10-gil near Sinyongsan Station in Yongsan, Seoul, with seating on the first and second floors and QR code ordering at the table. The writer ordered yeolgomtang (spicy gomtang) for 12,000 won and cabbage mandu (dumplings wrapped in cabbage), 2 pieces for 4,000 won, alongside a glass of baekseju jjabaegi for 2,000 won from a wide by-the-glass traditional liquor menu. With how busy things have been lately, I've been eating way too much fast food — my body felt tired and I was craving a proper, warm meal.

So to fight fire with fire and get some real nourishment, I headed to Baekok Yongsan, a place known as a must-visit near Yongsan Station for its rich gomtang (bone broth soup)!

Inside Baekok Yongsan: atmosphere and seating
The restaurant is comfortably split across two floors. I was guided up to the second floor and took a seat there.

Overall the place had a really clean, modern vibe — perfect for a relaxed meal.

How QR code ordering and Wi-Fi work at Baekok Yongsan
Baekok Yongsan uses a QR code system set up at each table, so you can order easily right from your phone. There was also a big Wi-Fi QR code posted on the wall, which was handy.

You don't even need to flag down a staff member — you can just look at the menu and order at your own pace, which felt really smart and convenient.

Traditional liquor by the glass: baekseju jjabaegi for 2,000 won
While browsing the menu, one thing that really caught my eye was just how varied the lineup of traditional Korean rice wines was! They serve baekseju over ice in a style called 'jjabaegi,' sold by the glass for 2,000 won. On top of that, there were other easy-to-try by-the-glass options like aisin highball, Mungyeongbaram highball, and neungyiju — a whole colorful lineup that really grabbed my attention.

A rich soup dish like gomtang paired with a good drink is basically the perfect combo, right? Unfortunately I had another appointment right after, so I had to hold off on the alcohol this time — but I told myself I'd definitely come back and try a glass of each!

Yeolgomtang for 12,000 won: how is the broth?
This time I ordered Baekok Yongsan's signature dish, yeolgomtang (12,000 won), along with cabbage mandu (dumplings) 2pc (4,000 won) as a side!

A little while later, the food arrived neatly plated! The yeolgomtang looked so hearty as soon as it hit the table that I couldn't help but be impressed.

The bowl was packed with a generous amount of meat, and the rice came in a satisfyingly full portion too. But most of all, the broth was seriously amazing!

It was spicy and sharp in a way that felt like it cleared out your whole system, so refreshing that once I started spooning it up I couldn't stop. It wasn't greasy at all — clean but deeply savory, and honestly the best thing for fighting fire with fire.

What do the cabbage mandu (2 pieces, 4,000 won) taste like?
I was curious so I also ordered Baekok Yongsan's cabbage mandu, and the look of it alone was special! It's dumpling filling wrapped generously in crunchy, sweet cabbage leaves and steamed.

The moment I picked one up with chopsticks and bit in, the juices from the cabbage and the savory juices from the filling burst out together — genuinely a special little treat!!
Pairing one bowl of gomtang with the two cabbage mandu made for a really satisfying, filling portion for a solo woman diner!

The kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) side dish was also fresh and crunchy, perfectly ripened — spooning it on top of rice soaked in the spicy yeolgomtang broth was an absolutely perfect combo.

Gomtang itself is already a healthy, restorative dish, and being able to pair it with quality traditional rice wine made the whole place feel even more appealing.

Mouthwash, toothpicks and candy by the entrance
On my way out after the meal, I noticed little touches of thoughtfulness for guests scattered around the entrance of Baekok Yongsan!

Single-use mouthwash, toothpicks, and even candy for after the meal were all neatly laid out individually. Thanks to the owner's thoughtful, considerate touch, I got to leave in a good mood right up until the very last moment.

If you're near Yongsan or Sinyongsan craving a rich, hearty soup to clear your system, or you want to enjoy a delicious meal alongside a quality glass of traditional rice wine, I highly recommend Baekok Yongsan — a solid pick as both a Sinyongsan Station favorite and a Yongsan I'Park Mall go-to!
