I wanted to drink with a friend at the fairly late hour of 10:30pm on a weekday Monday evening. My friend isn't great with alcohol, so I searched for cocktail bars and we landed on Woowoo, a solo-drinking bar in Gwangja, since it's roughly halfway between our two places!

Even at that late hour, there were already guests inside enjoying a free and relaxed vibe — I was surprised! While I was standing at the entrance taking photos, a staff member kindly opened the door for me and welcomed me in. My friendliness meter shot up right there haha.

The soft mood lighting and neon signs right from the entrance made me feel instantly hip lol.

Walking inside, what stood out first was a spacious bar table where guests and staff can naturally sit together.

On the shelves in the back, a huge lineup of fancy-looking bottles was on display lol.

Overall the space felt calm yet warm and cozy — the kind of charming spot where even first-time solo visitors can settle in without any awkwardness.

Also, the restroom is inside the store and kept spotless, so it was really convenient to be able to use it anytime without hassle!

Woowoo, the solo-drinking bar in Gwangja, was completely different from a typical bar where you just sit alone and drain your glass.

Because it's a 'solo-drinking bar,' everyone who comes here already arrives with an open, friendly mindset, so it had this amazing, warm atmosphere where anyone can quickly become friends haha.

The moment we sat down, some women who'd arrived earlier greeted us warmly and welcomed us in!

We naturally joined the flow of conversation, and together with the friendly staff, we all gathered in little clusters and started chatting away lol.

Starting from MBTI, we moved on to summer vacation plans, small everyday worries, even dating talk — before we knew it, we were chatting endlessly like old friends.

We ordered tasty snacks like chicken to share, and also got crispy crackers topped with cheese, and lost track of time while deep in conversation lol.

Sitting comfortably at the bar table and getting recommendations for cocktails and drinks tailored to your own taste is one of the big draws of Woowoo, the solo-drinking bar in Gwangja!

The colorful cocktails, carefully poured into pretty glasses, had such a lovely look that they lifted my mood just by looking at them.

The salty snacks served as a default starter, plus the crispy crackers piled with cheese that we ordered, paired perfectly with cold drinks haha.

And the witty, thoughtful staff kept bringing out extra drinks on the house, which got the mood even more lively lol.

After a long stretch of laughing and chatting excitedly with new people, I could feel all the stress that had been packed in my head completely melt away, leaving my mind much lighter. When you need to de-stress, chatting is the best!!

Woowoo, the solo-drinking bar in Gwangja, is a Seoul spot where you can relax 100%, even alone, without feeling self-conscious or awkward. If you want to chat with new people to find comfort and relieve stress, or if you want to enjoy good drinks and snacks in a cozy, hideout-like space — go once and you'll want to keep coming back! Lol.

As long as you come with an open mind, it's a place where anyone can feel welcomed, so I'm definitely going back the next time stress piles up haha.
