Mangwon bakery parking, angbutter, milk salt bread: Boulangerie Copain
In short
Boulangerie Copain (블랑제리코팡) is a European-style bakery on Huiujeong-ro in Mangwon-dong, Mapo, Seoul. On a return visit, the writer parked at the Mangwon public parking lot and bought a Valrhona chocolate baguette (₩7,000), an angbutter (red bean paste and butter sandwich, ₩5,500) and a milk salt bread (₩3,500), and the writer's child finished the milk salt bread right away. Boulangerie Copain has no parking of its own, but its 7 p.m. time sale and baguette slicing make it a good stop on a Mangwon bakery crawl.

I stopped by Boulangerie Copain (블랑제리코팡) again while bakery-hopping in Mangwon. This time I bought the Valrhona choco baguette, angbutter (red bean paste and butter on bread) and milk salt bread. Let me go through the prices of the three breads, the parking, and the time sale notice I saw in the shop.

Where is Boulangerie Copain, and what are its hours?
Boulangerie Copain is a Mangwon bakery at 115 Huiujeong-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor. According to the shop notice I photographed, it is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It may close early once ingredients run out, so check first if you are going late.

It's a European-style bakery that kneads and bakes by hand every day, based on the owner's hotel baking experience, and it was also featured in episode 612 of the TV show Master of Living (생활의 달인), on baguettes and croissants, right?

Where do you park at Boulangerie Copain?
The shop doesn't offer parking, so I used the Mangwon public parking lot. This time I left the car there and walked to the shop. There is also on-street public parking right in front of the shop.
Public parking isn't reserved for the shop, though, so check for open spaces and the on-site fee notice. The shop's notice says no parking support, so plan for a separate parking cost rather than expecting the shop to cover it.

The three breads I bought and their prices
At Boulangerie Copain I bought the Valrhona choco baguette for ₩7,000, the angbutter for ₩5,500 and the milk salt bread for ₩3,500.

Valrhona choco baguette
The shop's own introduction also lists the choco baguette as one of its signature items.

If you're hunting for baguettes on a Mangwon bakery crawl, it's worth comparing this with the plain baguette.

Angbutter
The angbutter at Boulangerie Copain is a baguette filled with red bean paste and butter.
The red bean and butter between the baguette slices are rich, I really love the angbutter here.
Milk salt bread
The shop describes the milk salt bread as bread where milk cream and salt come together. It was so soft that I took it home for my child, and the child wolfed it down in no time. It's a different item from the plain salt bread, and both are ₩3,500 in the photo. What I bought this time was the milk salt bread.

Boulangerie Copain bread menu and prices
I also looked over the bread menu. Basil crunch is ₩6,000; chestnut loaf, sliced brioche and brioche are ₩7,000 each; mini brioche is ₩4,500.

Bread Suisse and garlic cheese ball are ₩5,500 each, and honey toast is ₩4,500. Castella cream bread and melon cream bread are ₩5,000 each, and the fig cream cheese baguette is ₩5,500.

I also saw quignon-amann at ₩4,800, cinnamon cruffin at ₩4,500, financier at ₩4,000 and fig financier at ₩4,200. Choco banana croissant and raspberry almond croissant are ₩6,000 each, and blueberry croissant is ₩6,300. The plain baguette and croissant are ₩4,500 each, the corn cheese sausage croissant is ₩6,000 and the injeolmi (rice cake) croissant is ₩5,500, so pick what suits you. There's a wide variety.

There was also a time sale notice, daily from 7 p.m.: 20% off for purchases of ₩20,000 or more and 30% off for ₩30,000 or more. Seasonal items are excluded, and 30% doesn't apply unconditionally to every purchase.

Which breads can be sliced at Boulangerie Copain?
The items that can be sliced were listed as baguette, choco baguette, campagne (country loaf) and basil crunch. Other items are hard to slice, so keep that in mind when you get your bread packed.

If you want to add a bakery to your Mangridan-gil food route, check the parking and whether the bread you want is on sale, then stop by Boulangerie Copain.
