On a nice autumn day like this, it's such a waste to stay home. The mornings and evenings are already chilly, so it'll be cold soon. That's why I'm trying to get out and about even more, haha. Today I had pizza and beer at a casual Bukchon restaurant, then walked around the Anguk Station area. The atmosphere was lovely, and it would make a great date course.

What is Low Five Anguk and how do you get there?

Low Five Anguk is a casual pizza restaurant in Bukchon, a 2-minute walk from Anguk Station Exit 2. I heard Low Five started as a small brunch place in Suwon and grew enough to open a branch in Seoul. It's easy to reach. After a short walk, we were already there, haha.

The red brick building with its red awning catches your eye right away. The exotic vibe makes you stop in your tracks, like magic!! Haha. It made me curious about the inside, too.

Even the exotic door gets a pass!!

Low Five Anguk wait times: when should you go to wait less?

There's a waiting machine at the entrance, so it's clearly a place with queues. I went right after break time ended and got in with no wait. I'd heard it's popular enough that weekends and peak hours have a pretty long wait. Luckily we sat down right away, and about 10 minutes later the place was full. Timing game success!! I imagine the wait is considerable on weekends and at peak times.

Low Five Anguk interior and seating

The inside of Low Five Anguk is decorated with warm, cozy lighting and wood-tone tables and chairs. The seats are well spaced and there is group seating, so I think it would work for group get-togethers too. Low Five started as a small shop in Suwon, and it's not common for a Suwon place to open a branch in Seoul, so I found that interesting.

Low Five Anguk menu and how to order

At Low Five Anguk, an Anguk Station pizza favorite, you order with the QR code on the table. The menu has pizza, pasta and side dishes, plus beer and drinks.

The pasta came in a good mix of cream, oil and tomato sauces, and the sides include Caesar salad and kimchi fried rice, so it looks easy to add a few different dishes. I think the kimchi fried rice would be an easy choice when Western food feels a bit heavy.

Pizza and beer for two: taco pizza, cream pasta and two bottled beers

  • Taco pizza ₩27,000
  • Alfredo cream pasta ₩18,000
  • 1664 Blanc ₩8,000
  • Hoegaarden ₩7,000

There were two of us, so we ordered one each of pizza, pasta and bottled beer. There's a half-and-half option for pizza, and I was going to split it, but they had a taco pizza, so I went with that. Spicy taco pizza and beer are a perfect match~ Beer really is a must with pizza!!

Hoegaarden and Blanc. It's been a while since I had a Blanc, haha.

Nice touch matching the beer glasses to the brands!

Alfredo cream pasta topped with whole bacon

How does the Alfredo cream pasta at Low Five Anguk taste?

The Alfredo cream pasta at Low Five Anguk (₩18,000) was a thick, rich cream pasta with a line of whole bacon in it. It's been a while since I had cream pasta. The last one I had was so bland and greasy that I avoided ordering it if I could. But the pizza was spicy, so I figured cream would be fine and ordered it. The whole bacon made it feel like they don't skimp on ingredients, and it was exactly the thick, rich cream pasta I love! I think almost anything on the Low Five Anguk menu would be a hit.

What toppings come on the taco pizza at Low Five Anguk?

The taco pizza at Low Five Anguk (₩27,000) has a spicy chipotle base topped with grilled shrimp, hot chicken, bacon, salsa and cilantro. The grilled shrimp and hot chicken went well together. Add a spicy chipotle base with a fierce kick and salsa on top, and it can't miss! Best of all, it's loaded with toppings.

Will I go back to Low Five Anguk?

Low Five Anguk, an Anguk Station pizza favorite, is a casual restaurant whose exotic interior and tasty food left an impression. The taco pizza was truly delicious, the pizza of my life. The pasta was good too, so I plan to go back soon to try other dishes, haha.
