The juices of domestic 1+ grade Mungyeong yakdol pork on a 270°C cauldron lid, a grilling service where an expert cooks for you, and a generous self-bar

How long is the dinner peak wait at Sanggu's Guui Branch?
When I went at the dinner peak, I had to wait about 30 minutes. This is my regular spot, but I'd only ever gone late at night, so this was my first time visiting in the evening.
When you're craving great pork belly with a glass of soju, I have a favorite BBQ place that nails both value and quality! That's Sanggu's Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Guui Branch.

Unlike my night visits, the place was absolutely packed inside and out in the evening, so I had to wait around 30 minutes! Waiting there, I felt all over again how hugely popular it is. It's a top Guui restaurant and a landmark for cauldron-lid pork belly.
What are the 270°C cauldron lid and grilling service like?
Sanggu's grills domestic premium 1+ grade Mungyeong yakdol pork on a custom-made 270°C cauldron lid, and staff cook it for you from start to finish. The writer says the secret of its popularity is the quality of the meat and the heartfelt service.

Because it's Mungyeong yakdol pork, the meat has no gamey smell and is remarkably moist. The meat goes onto a huge custom lid heated to 270°C, and kimchi, bean sprouts and bracken (gosari, fernbrake) cook in the pork fat that runs off. That combination is simply art ♡

Best of all, the staff are trained in grilling and cook everything for you from start to finish, so you can enjoy top-notch meat in comfort.
What's in the Sanggu's self-bar?
At the self-bar of the Guui Branch, you can take as many wrap greens, like lettuce and perilla leaves, and side dishes as you like. This is another big plus of Sanggu's!

The wrap greens come in great variety and are kept fresh, which makes it really easy to build generous wraps with your meat.

The side dishes are also yours to take freely, as much as you want without feeling awkward, so the whole meal was comfortable and satisfying.
How does the Mungyeong yakdol pork belly for 3 taste?
What I ordered this day was 3 servings of juicy pork belly! The moment the thick slices hit the hot lid, the nutty aroma and the sizzling sound really got my appetite going.

Rich, moist juiciness
Maybe because it's 1+ grade Mungyeong yakdol pork, every bite was crisp yet moist, with rich flavor bursting in my mouth.

Paired with lid-grilled vegetables
Eaten with kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts and bracken cooked in the pork fat, it wasn't greasy at all and the savory depth just exploded.

Stuffing a big wrap
Piling golden grilled pork belly and grilled kimchi onto assorted wrap greens and eating it in one big bite is addictive. You won't forget it once you've tried it.
Verdict: is the 30-minute wait worth it?
The 30-minute wait was not a waste at all. The meat quality, the generous self-bar and the friendly grilling service were all perfect at Sanggu's Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Guui Branch!

If you want proper cauldron-lid pork belly near Guui Station, Gangbyeon Station or the Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, I strongly recommend visiting Sanggu's, a generous and delicious Guui favorite!
