I've been really into Japanese food lately, and within that, yakitori that goes so well with a cold highball or beer. After work I suddenly craved a cold highball and good skewers, so I looked for a good spot near my office and found a place in Sangam with great vibes and great food across the board — I went straight there with my mom. Today I'm introducing Hanamato Sangam DMC, a Sangam DMC izakaya!

This Sangam DMC izakaya, Hanamato Sangam DMC, is only a 5–10 minute walk from Exit 8 of Digital Media City Station, so it was easy to get to. My office is in Sangam too, so I can walk there easily — I'm planning to come here for a work dinner next time haha.

Tablet ordering and what my mom and I ordered

Every table at Hanamato Sangam DMC has a tablet, so it's easy to sit down, browse the menu, and order. There are set menus too, so ordering a set would be great! Visiting with my mom, I ordered generously — five kinds of skewers plus yaki udon, karaage, and a green apple highball!

Shrimp chips served as a default side

Before we even ordered, they brought us shrimp chips first — you know these are seriously good, right?! They come as a default side, and honestly you could sip a beer with just these alone haha.

Green apple highball

Doesn't the green apple highball look delicious? Even though the weather has warmed up, it's still hot during the day, and this highball blows all that heat away! The alcohol content wasn't too strong either, which was great for a lightweight like me haha.

Yaki udon served as the first main dish

Yaki udon (stir-fried udon)

How's the look of the yaki udon? Wow, this was the first main dish that came out — one bite in, and my mom and I both said this place really knows what it's doing, and finished it off in a flash haha. Anyone who loves noodle dishes will definitely be satisfied with this.

Karaage (Japanese fried chicken)

And then the karaage! The dishes came out one by one.

Freshly fried karaage

What is there to say about the karaage? Crispy outside, juicy inside — the real deal. Since the owner fries it fresh to order, we got to enjoy it hot and crispy on the outside.

Enoki-pork belly and chicken neck skewers, plus the five-skewer set

We also ordered the enoki mushroom pork belly skewer and two chicken thigh skewers separately. If you love skewers, you could probably eat like 20 of them here... they were seasoned so well that they were delicious even without any dipping sauce.

Finally, the five kinds of skewers arrived! My mom loved that we could try so many different things here, and she kept raving that every single dish was delicious, which made eating together even more fun ♡
