Christmas café in Yangju: big October trees, mango cake at Doasis

Let me introduce a huge café in Yangju that's full of Christmas spirit! We came across Doasis by chance with my child and family. The Christmas mood and the palm tree in the middle were so pretty that it felt like a great big café in Yangju for going with family. The space is very wide, and I'd recommend it for group meetings and gatherings too! Here's my honest write-up of Doasis's location, menu, space, and bakery and drink reviews.

Where is Doasis in Yangju, and is parking easy?

Doasis is near Deokjeong Station, within 5 minutes by car from the station. It sits among shops, so it's easy to get to.

The parking lot is also very large, and parking was easy! Maybe that's why lots of people came as groups, for meetings and small gatherings!

Doasis menu and drink prices

This is the menu board at Doasis. Prices for the main items are below.

The Doasis americano is ₩4,500, cheap compared with other large cafés. Other coffees and drinks run about ₩7,000–8,000, which is a fair range for a large café. We ordered 4 drinks: an americano, sweet potato latte, plain yogurt smoothie and Hawaiian Oasis.

Besides coffee and drinks, Doasis also sells meals such as pizza.

Doasis bakery and cake selection

The bread at Doasis is baked fresh every day, so the moment you walk in the café is full of the toasty smell of baking! I came in the afternoon and some items were already sold out. Even so, there was such a variety that browsing was fun.

There were also prettily decorated cakes. They were bigger than I expected, so they looked great for sharing! Doasis cakes can be packed to go if you buy a cake box, so I think they'd make a good gift too!

What's the converted bathhouse interior of Doasis like?

Doasis is a large café remodeled from a former public bathhouse. Here and there are spaces like bath tubs, and signs like "gold bath" and "hot bath" give it a strong bathhouse feel!

Plants such as palm trees have been planted in the old tubs, giving the café a concept all its own!

Seating that's easy for families with kids

Tables at Doasis are set up for all sizes of party: 2, 4, 8 and groups! The table styles vary too, with stepped and floor seating, and many families with young children were visiting!

The photo zones are really well made all over, so my family and I were busy grabbing the shot of a lifetime. There are mirrors placed in spots with pretty backdrops, so I took tons of mirror selfies too. My mother, who came along, said the café was like a botanical garden, was full of admiration and was very satisfied.

How do the Hawaiian Oasis, sweet potato latte and yogurt smoothie taste?

We'd had a light lunch before the café, so I ordered several bakery items too.

The Hawaiian Oasis, Doasis's signature, caught my eye with its look alone! It's a pineapple juice–based drink with a blue, yellow and red gradient that was gorgeous.

The plain yogurt smoothie was so generous the cup was overflowing, haha. Overall it wasn't sweet, and the tangy flavor came through nicely.

The sweet potato latte was my mother's order! She originally wanted the chestnut latte, but it was already sold out! It's apparently a popular item.

The Doasis sweet potato latte went down smoothly and the nutty scent of sweet potato filled my mouth! And the portion is really big! The cup it comes in is as large as a soup bowl >_< My mother's honest review was that it could even replace a meal.

Chestnut loaf and mango cake: how's the bakery?

The Doasis bakery was good overall too. The scone on the right is the one you get for writing a Naver review!

I ordered the chestnut loaf (bam sikppang) to console myself over the sold-out chestnut latte! It was about the size of a palm. The bread was packed with generous sweet chestnut pieces inside.

And this is the mango cake! It was big, with a moderate amount of cream inside. The cream wasn't overdone, so it wasn't greasy, just plain and perfect. It can be packed in a cake box, so I recommend it as a gift or for a simple party with a whole cake!
