Why did I use a car windshield oil film remover?
The car windows looked clean during the day, but when I drove at night, streetlights looked smeared. Even with the wipers on during rainy days, there was still a hazy feeling. The inconvenience continued despite frequent car washes, so I tried AutoGrooming Clean View Oil Film Remover myself.
Is a towel included?
Inside the neat zip-bag-style packaging were the oil film remover and a large towel. It seemed like it would be convenient for storage after use, too. The instructions were not difficult, so even as a car-wash beginner, I did not feel intimidated about getting started.
What was the process like?
First, I washed the glass thoroughly with water. I put an appropriate amount of remover on the towel and gently rubbed the whole surface in circular motions about five times. I was worried it might take a lot of effort, but it spread more easily than expected and the job was straightforward.
As I rubbed, the slippery feel of the glass seemed to lessen. Then, as I rinsed it with water, I watched the water bead up and run off the glass.
Since the towel was included, I did not need to prepare a separate work towel or sponge. It is also said to work for removing oil film from bathroom shower booths, not just car glass.
How did the glass and night visibility change afterward?
After wiping away the moisture, the faint stains and cloudy film I usually saw seemed to be gone, and the glass looked noticeably clearer. I could feel the difference enough to look outside from inside the car a few more times.
When I drove that night, I felt that the smearing around streetlights was reduced and everything looked clearer. Even on rainy days, the view seemed to clear up neatly after the wipers passed, which made driving more comfortable.
What about the scent and how much I used?
For me, there was barely any harsh smell, and I did not get a headache while working. One bottle was enough not only for the windshield but also for the side windows and rear window. It was easy to use myself and I noticed a change in visibility, so I plan to use it again at my next car wash.
