I was looking for a quiet café to enjoy cake and dessert in Ingye-dong, Suwon, and ended up at Diaz Cake Boutique. I already knew of Diaz because a friend recommended it as a cake spot.
I heard that Diaz Cake Boutique had newly opened on the 2nd floor of the same building as the existing 4th-floor café Diaz, so I went to check it out myself.
Where is Diaz Cake Boutique, and where can you park?
Diaz Cake Boutique is located on the 2nd floor, Unit 201, of the building at 48-7 Ingye-ro166beon-gil in Ingye-dong, Suwon. There's no parking at the building, so you'll need to use the area around Nahyeoseok-geori or a public parking lot.
Diaz Boutique is on the 2nd floor. The original café Diaz is still running on the 4th floor of the same building, so when you visit, make sure to check whether you need the 2nd or 4th floor before you get in the elevator. I actually thought it was the 4th-floor café and went to the wrong place, haha.
Inside the 2nd-floor boutique: how does the room feel?
The moment I stepped in, I felt a charm quite different from the 4th-floor café Diaz. The 4th floor has a terrace and feels open with a relatively large space, but the newly opened 2nd-floor boutique is a bit more compact.
Instead, the seating layout gives a strong sense of privacy, and the antique interior creates a calm, upscale atmosphere.
Sitting at a spot where soft sunlight filtered in through the large windows, I understood why this place had already become a dessert hotspot in Ingye-dong by word of mouth. It's a space optimized less for groups and more for two people—a couple or friends—chatting quietly over cake and coffee.

Besides slice cakes you can eat in-store, you can also order whole cakes or custom lettering cakes for special occasions. In particular, the strawberry fresh cream cake and mango fresh cream cake are apparently so popular that more than 100 are sold each day.
If you have a special birthday or anniversary coming up, it seems best to reserve your cake in advance. And they're seriously proud of their ingredients!

What we ordered: peach parfait, flat white and fruit cake
On this visit, we chose the peach parfait, a flat white, and the fruit cake.
The peach parfait has a scoop of ice cream on top, and underneath there's a really generous amount of peach—it was right up my alley since I love fruit.
The fruit cake also had fruit piled up generously in layers, a visual that made me happy just looking at it.
How it tasted: light fresh cream, bitter coffee
Once I actually tasted it, I understood why my friend praised it so highly as a cake spot.
With every bite of the fruit cake, the flavor of well-ripened fruit filled my mouth, and the fresh cream was light and refreshing without being overly sweet, so it never felt heavy. Thanks to the clean flavor of the dairy cream, it paired perfectly with the fruit.
The flat white was also bittersweet and clean-tasting, which went really well with the sweet cake.
With the peach parfait, scooping up the refreshing ice cream together with the peach felt like it melted away all my fatigue.
