Here's a Seongsu restaurant that's great for a date around Seoulsup~

Where is Hotcho Seongsu, and what are its hours?

Hotcho Seongsu is at 9-20 Wangsimni-ro 5-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor, 268 m from Exit 5 of Seoulsup Station on the Suin-Bundang Line. It's open daily 11:30-22:00, with a break from 15:30 to 17:00 and last orders at 14:30 and 21:00.

Where do you park at Hotcho Seongsu?

The restaurant has no parking of its own, but you can pay to park at a public lot near Seoulsup.

Of the public lots near Seoulsup, we parked at the one attached to the Seongdong-gu Citizens' Sports Center. It costs ₩300 per 5 minutes and ₩3,600 per hour, and

since a Tesla counts as a low-emission vehicle, we got 50% off the public lot fee and paid ₩1,920.

Waiting and atmosphere at Hotcho Seongsu

Last time we were on a Seongsu date I almost went to Hotcho Seongsu for okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) but didn't, so this time we finally made it!

There's a Catch Table waiting machine in front of Hotcho Seongsu, and what does that mean ❓ It's a proven Seoulsup restaurant ❗️

We went on a weekday before lunchtime, so we were the first customers,

and every table was set up with a dedicated okonomiyaki griddle.

Hotcho Seongsu menu and the Signature Set for two

The menu at Hotcho Seongsu has set menus listed separately, so we ticked the Signature Set for two and ordered it.

The basic side dish at Hotcho Seongsu is cabbage,

and I also captured the cooking you can watch up close at the bar seats.

At Hotcho Seongsu, the food is brought out fully cooked and set on the griddle built into each table,

and it has to look this good before I can recommend it as a Seongsu restaurant 😏 Here's the Signature Set for two we ordered at Hotcho Seongsu:

How do the Hiroshima okonomiyaki and chili yakisoba taste?

The Signature Set for two came with Hotcho Hiroshima okonomiyaki (₩18,000) and Hotcho chili yakisoba (₩14,000). On request they'll also give you katsuobushi (bonito flakes) on the side for the okonomiyaki. And not because this meal was sponsored, but the chili-oil stir-fried yakisoba (fried noodles) at Hotcho Seongsu was better than any yakisoba I had on my trips to Japan.

Griddle-grilled Hotcho yakigyoza

Hotcho yakigyoza (₩8,000) are dumplings grilled on the griddle, and honestly, did the dumplings at Hotcho Seongsu have to be delicious too?

Cola for the drink

Cola is ₩3,000. At an okonomiyaki place you really should have draft beer, but I'd only just woken up that day, so I swapped in a soda.

Is Hotcho Seongsu a good pick for a Seoulsup date?

Order the Hotcho Signature Set for two and you get three dishes for under ₩40,000, enough to stuff yourselves happily, so if you're coming for a Seongsu or Seoulsup date, I recommend Hotcho Seongsu 👍
