Where is Samcheok Bomulseom, and when is it open?
Samcheok Bomulseom is a gastropub right in front of Jeungsan Beach, at 364 Suro Buin-gil, 1F, Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do. It's open daily 11:30–22:00, closed Tuesdays, with a break time of 15:00–17:00 and last order at 21:00.

I came to Samcheok to go snorkeling with a friend, and the next day we went for lunch omakase!!
Never expected a place like this to exist in Samcheok... I saw the 25,000-won-per-person price and thought whoa, went in, and came out completely satisfied!!!!!!!!

Parking at Samcheok Bomulseom: 3–4 cars out front
Here's the outside of the place. Samcheok Bomulseom has room for 3–4 cars to park right in front!!! I parked at the public lot instead since I wanted to see the sea too!
(Having a few spots right out front is such a nice touch — if it's hot or raining and you have to park far away, you're already exhausted before you even eat.)

Inside Samcheok Bomulseom and the window view of Jeungsan Beach
The interior at Samcheok Bomulseom is totally my taste. Clean but still has atmosphere!??
(The tables are also spaced out well, so I could eat comfortably without worrying about the next table!!) And more importantly — this place is a total view spot.

I'd booked ahead, so we got seated right away with no wait!! This place is popular, so if we'd just walked in we probably would've waited forever!?!?!?

If you sit by the window, Jeungsan Beach is right in front of you. Eating while looking at the Jeungsan sea is total healing haha. Eating delicious food with your mouth, eating a gorgeous sea with your eyes!!

What comes in the 25,000-won omakase set?
You can feel the care put into every single dish!!! The portions were just right and everything came out neatly, so I ate happily the whole time. Even the basic side dishes — braised quail eggs, stir-fried anchovies, and kimchi — I almost wanted to sneak home with them.
(The owner was so kind, explaining the menu carefully, and I could ask for refills on the side dishes without feeling awkward at all!!! I was hungry so I refilled twice.)

The menu lineup is seriously packed. Spoiler ahead: soy-marinated crab, soy-marinated shrimp, butter-grilled abalone, jeyuk-bokkeum, mussel stew, abalone fried rice, jjimdak, tofu kimchi, kimchi pancake, and suyuk all come out to fill the whole table!!!!!!!

Jjimdak (soy-braised chicken)
The jjimdak has a soy base with a hint of jjajang flavor? The chicken is tender and the glass noodles are perfectly chewy!!

The trick is eating it once it's reduced down. I kept slurping up the broth.

Suyuk (boiled pork slices)
The suyuk has zero gamey smell and is boiled perfectly tender. The kimchi that came with it was insane too.

Kimchi pancake
The kimchi pancake's exterior is so crispy it's practically ASMR. Exactly the kind of kimchi pancake that makes you crave makgeolli!!!!

Mussel stew
The mussel stew's broth is seriously refreshing. Perfect for a hangover cure, and the mussel meat is nice and plump.

Delicious, clean, and such good value — haven't found a place like this in a while!!! Two of us eating together, and we were basically about to burst.

Butter-grilled abalone
The butter-grilled abalone has a subtle butter aroma while still keeping that signature chewy abalone texture. Salty and savory. There were only two pieces so it was gone in one bite ㅠㅠ

Abalone-innard fried rice on a hot plate
The abalone-innard fried rice on the hot plate — this was the best of all. Strong abalone aroma, fried rice with a fluffy texture, I couldn't stop reaching for it. It came out sizzling on the plate, and the crispy scorched rice at the bottom was amazing ㅜㅜ

Jeyuk-bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork)
The jeyuk-bokkeum is a solid, classic spicy-sweet version. Not tough, nice and tender — would be perfect as a drinking snack too!?

Soy-marinated crab and soy-marinated shrimp
The soy-marinated crab and shrimp aren't too salty — just the right seasoning, and I inhaled a whole bowl of rice with it. The crab meat was packed in solidly, so when you squeeze it, the meat just pours out!!! Absolutely delicious.

Is Samcheok Bomulseom worth it? Honest verdict
I ate so well I basically got a blood sugar spike. So delicious... The portions are definitely not small for a lunch omakase, and I left completely stuffed (not exaggerating, I almost burst).
Considering the price against the spread, it's hard to find a table like this anywhere else. 100% would come back. I want to recommend it to people around me too... It'd also be great to bring parents here, and next time I visit Samcheok I'm thinking of coming back with family. If you're looking for a good restaurant in Samcheok, an omakase spot worth trying, go right now!!!!
