Sadang second-round bar: grilled dried pollack snacks at Sisibibi

In short

Sisibibi is an Asian-style tavern on the second floor near Exits 8 and 9 of Sadang Station in Dongjak, Seoul. Stopping by for a second round after dinner, the writer ordered only two dishes — roughly cut seasonal raw fish sashimi and grilled meoktae (dried pollack) with tuigak (crisp fried seaweed) — and both came in generous portions. Sisibibi suits anyone who wants a calm conversation over drinks rather than a noisy Korean street-food pub.

Snack spread at Sisibibi, an Asian-style tavern near Sadang Station

This time I want to share my review of Sisibibi, an Asian-style tavern I visited for round two in Sadang!! Sadang has so many bars that it's always hard to decide where to go, right? Usually if a place is packed it gets too loud to even talk ㅠㅠ But Sisibibi had good food and wasn't noisy, so it was great for actually chatting!

Sisibibi near Sadang Station is close to Exits 8 and 9, so it's super easy to meet friends there — the access is really good!

What is the atmosphere like inside Sisibibi?

The calm interior atmosphere of Sisibibi

Sisibibi has the feel of an Asian-style tavern space, so it was a bit calmer and had better ambience than a typical pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibe.

The tables weren't cramped either, and it didn't feel loud or crowded, so it was really nice to slowly drink and talk with a friend.

We visited in the evening, and the lighting was soft with a warm overall feel — perfect for having a drink.

Since we'd already had round one and came here for round two, we didn't order a huge amount, but I thought we picked really well haha

Here's what we ordered that day!

  • Seasonal raw fish sashimi, roughly cut
  • Grilled meoktae with tuigak

Seasonal raw fish sashimi, roughly cut

The seasonal raw fish sashimi came out first, and the portion was surprisingly generous.

Roughly cut raw fish sashimi

True to its roughly-cut style, the fish came in chunky slices! I actually love this style as a drinking snack.

Please excuse my flashy drunk moves in the photos.. the fish itself felt fresh, and eating it with the side vegetables was so clean and refreshing that I kept reaching for more (stop~)

A piece of fish with a shot of soju paired so well, and eating vegetables in between meant I kept going back for more — a great combo.

Grilled meoktae (dried pollack) and seaweed tuigak

And the dish I personally liked even more that day was Sisibibi's grilled meoktae with tuigak.

The meoktae (grilled dried pollack) portion was pretty big, and the meat was thick, so it was fun to tear off and eat. The meoktae here is delicious..!

Picking up a piece of crispy tuigak

Best of all, the meoktae comes with tuigak (fried seaweed chips) like gimbugak (crispy fried seaweed), and it was way tastier than I expected.. I don't usually like gimbugak, but this was delicious. A whole new flavor opened my eyes ㅠ Chewing on the crispy tuigak alongside the fish added great texture, and being salty made it perfect as a drinking snack.

Is Sisibibi worth it for a second round in Sadang?

Snacks and drinks enjoyed for round two at Sisibibi

Since this was round two, I originally planned to just have one light drink and leave, but the food was tasty and the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, so the drinks kept coming haha

Honestly, if a bar is too loud or chaotic, it's hard to stay long no matter how good the food is, but Sisibibi had soft lighting and a calm atmosphere, so it was great for drinking while talking haha

For anyone looking for a bar in Sadang who wants somewhere calmer and more atmospheric rather than loud and busy to enjoy food and drinks, this place seems like a great fit!

Especially for people like us who come for round two after round one, it was nice that each dish came in a generous portion even without ordering a lot — easy to enjoy without pressure!

Overall the food was satisfying and I liked the atmosphere too — Sisibibi! If you're looking for a quiet place to drink in Sadang, I'd recommend it as a spot for round two.

If you're looking for a bar with a good atmosphere in Sadang, Sisibibi is worth a visit. Next time I'll leave more room in my stomach and properly try the other menu items haha. Good, good recommendation for a round-two bar in Sadang~
