In short

Nani Yeouido Branch is an izakaya in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, directly by Yeouido Station Exit 3, with private rooms and window seats. I had assorted tempura and lamb shoulder rack by the window; the thin, crisp batter and moist lamb stood out in a calm setting for dinner and drinks.

On a day when I had dinner plans in Yeouido, I visited Nani Yeouido Branch (나니 여의도점) to enjoy both a meal and drinks. The space with private rooms and window seats caught my eye, and the menu had a wide range of choices, from lamb shoulder rack to sashimi and seafood nabe (Japanese-style hot pot). That day, I ordered assorted tempura and lamb shoulder rack.

How do you get there from Yeouido Station?

Nani Yeouido Branch is on the third floor of the S-Trenue Building, directly in front of Yeouido Station Exit 3. It was easy to find because it is close to the station.

After taking the escalator up to the third floor, I saw it right away. I thought it would also be convenient as a meeting place for a group.

When I visited, I saw many guests dressed in business attire. At the time of the original post, the listed hours were 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM daily, with last orders at 1:00 AM. It was also noted that group visits and Naver reservations were available.

What are the private rooms and window seats like?

The interior was mainly made up of private rooms, separated from the regular seating area. The tables were also spaced apart enough that I did not feel pressed close to the next table. I thought it would suit a date for two, a gathering with friends, or a work dinner.

The city view from the window was especially memorable for me. Having dinner while watching the evening lights come on in the tall buildings gave the experience Yeouido's distinct atmosphere.

What were the components and texture of the assorted tempura?

I started by ordering the assorted tempura. The complimentary dishes were vinegared seaweed salad and sugar-coated hardtack crackers.

The complimentary snacks made it nice to alternate between sweet-salty and tangy flavors. Ranch sauce for the tempura was served too, and the assortment included several ingredients, such as kabocha squash, shrimp, onion, and sweet potato.

The batter was evenly colored, thin, and crisp. It did not feel heavily saturated with oil, so the distinct textures of the ingredients came through.

The shrimp was springy yet tender.

Personally, the fragrant vegetable tempura was the most delicious. I could not tell for sure whether it was ssuk (mugwort), but its savory flavor stayed with me. The gentle natural sweetness of the kabocha squash and sweet potato went well with the fried coating.

The vegetable tempura was large, so I cut it before eating. Inside the crisp batter, the onion was softly cooked and sweet.

Besides the ranch sauce, I asked for and received soy sauce. To my taste, the soy sauce went well with the shrimp and onion.

What were the aroma and texture of the lamb shoulder rack like?

The dish I was looking forward to most that day was the lamb shoulder rack. Nani said it uses lamb under 10 months old. When I had it, the distinctive lamb aroma was not strong, and it felt relatively clean-tasting and tender.

Eating while looking out at the Yeouido view was also part of the pleasure of the meal.

When I took a bite, the juices were still moist.

How did basil sauce and cumin change it?

The lamb came with basil sauce and cumin. The meat had good flavor on its own, but it tasted different depending on the accompaniment.

Basil sauce and cumin served with lamb

I first ate it without dipping it in anything. With the basil sauce, the added herb aroma made it feel fresher; with cumin, the spice flavor became more pronounced.

It was enjoyable to alternate between the two. In particular, I thought lamb with a light dusting of cumin would pair well with drinks, so I ordered soju too.

What kind of dinner plans does it suit?

Because it is easy to find from the station and has private seating and window seats, it is a place to consider for a date, gathering with friends, or work dinner. The space I experienced was good for calmly talking over a meal, and the city view from the window was memorable. Of the food, the moist lamb shoulder rack stood out most, while the assorted tempura was also good to share and enjoy for its crisp variety of ingredients.
