Atmosphere, table setting and tablet ordering
The inside of Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong was clean and tidy. The mood is relaxed and comfortable for a meal, so it looked fine for coming with family or friends too.

The table was neatly set with a spoon and chopsticks, tissues and wet wipes. Everything you need is already there, so you can start eating without fuss.

What does Gome Mui's abalone pot rice taste like?

The abalone in Gome Mui's abalone pot rice was chewy yet tender, and the rice carried a subtle abalone flavor, so it was clean and mellow to eat. The moment I lifted the lid, the abalone was sitting there looking delicious, and it felt like a hearty meal just from the sight of it 👏🏻

Mixing the abalone and rice with the seasoning sauce added extra savory depth and made it even tastier 👍🏻 You can adjust the amount of sauce to your own taste, which I liked.

Steak pot rice mixed with egg yolk
Gome Mui's steak pot rice comes topped with steak and an egg yolk, so it looked delicious right from the start 👏🏻 Mixing the yolk evenly through the rice made it nutty and rich, and really tasty.

Dipping the steak in the separate sauce gave it a salty, savory kick, and eating it with the pot rice was filling. Adding the yolk-mixed rice brought an extra nutty flavor, which made it a fun, different way to enjoy it :)

Pollock roe wrapped in seaweed, and a nurungji finish
Wrapping the pollock roe from the side dishes and some steak pot rice in the seaweed also went together really well :) After finishing the pot rice, I poured hot water in to make nurungji (scorched rice soup) to end the meal, and it was so good I enjoyed it right to the last bite 🫶🏻
