Busan Songjeong sunset tea café: Ruiwolju and the beach train
In short
Suwolgyeonghwa is a fourth-floor ocean-view traditional tea café on Songjeong-jungang-ro 6beon-gil in Haeundae, Busan. After smelling the loose tea leaves at the counter, we ordered Ruiwolju and hojigabae (roasted-tea latte) along with a Dalbodre box of Korean desserts, then watched the sunset and the beach train line up outside the window seat. When you are tired of coffee-only cafés, Suwolgyeonghwa is a hanok-style tea house in Songjeong that also works for a visit with parents.

Isn't Songjeong Beach always on the list when you visit Busan?! This time I went to Suwolgyeonghwa, famous for its Songjeong ocean view. It's known as one of the best-view cafés among Songjeong cafés in Busan, and I'd wanted to go for ages — finally made it happen.

Suwolgyeonghwa: location, hours and parking in Songjeong
Suwolgyeonghwa (수월경화) is on the 4th floor of a building at 188 Songjeong-jungang-ro 6beon-gil, Haeundae-gu, Busan, and it's open 11:00–23:00. There's a private lot on the building's 1st floor, and if that's full you can use the lot across the street, though there's no parking validation.
The Suwolgyeonghwa menu: traditional tea instead of coffee
Suwolgyeonghwa's main menu is, naturally, tea. As a proper Busan traditional tea café, they even have a dedicated four-season premium tea collection — they're serious about tea. There's also coffee for anyone not used to tea, plus plenty of traditional Korean drinks like ssanghwacha (herbal tonic tea), jujube tea, ginger tea, sikhye (sweet rice punch), and sujeonggwa (cinnamon-persimmon punch), so it was easy to pick something to suit your taste. If you're tired of coffee-only cafés, I'd recommend this as a Busan traditional tea house or herbal tea café.

All of Suwolgyeonghwa's desserts are K-desserts. No Western bread or cake here — it's filled only with Eastern-style desserts like tteok (rice cake) and monaka (wafer-shell dessert). We ordered the signature Dalbodre box, which packs several kinds of K-dessert into one box, perfect alongside tea. If you're looking for a Songjeong dessert café or a hangwa (Korean traditional sweets) café in Busan, you have to try the Dalbodre box.
The Songjeong sea from the 4th-floor picture window

Being on the 4th floor means climbing stairs, which is a bit of a slog, but the moment you reach the top and see the Songjeong sea through the picture window, all the tiredness melts away haha. Not many Songjeong cafés in Busan have an ocean view this good.

The moment you walk into Suwolgyeonghwa, you feel the Korean hanok (traditional house) atmosphere. It's decorated with wood-tone props and hanok-style interior, giving it a different vibe from your typical aesthetic café.

I browsed the guestbooks and little props scattered around the shop, and I loved the bird and wave sounds coming from the speakers too.

Window seat at sunset, with the beach train passing below
If you sit by the window, you can also watch the beach train pass by — apparently that's why it's also known as a Busan beach-train-view café!

The combo of the passing beach train and the evening sunset! Sitting there right around sunset is genuinely a cheat code. The sky turns pink and the beach train glides right across it — this combo was seriously gorgeous. I truly felt why it's known as a Songjeong sunset spot and beach-train-view café in Busan. I think parents would really love this too.

An open view, a sunset, and a cup of tea — instant, effortless healing.

Smelling the tea leaves before ordering: Ruiwolju and hojigabae
With so many menu options, it can be hard to decide, but Suwolgyeonghwa lets you sniff the tea before ordering — tea leaf samples are lined up so you can smell each one and pick what suits your taste. Even people who don't know much about tea can smell first and decide, which is really handy if you're indecisive. This kind of thoughtful touch made it feel like one of the more properly put-together traditional tea cafés in Busan.

We ordered Ruiwolju and hojigabae.

When the tea arrives, they place the steeped leaves on a strainer on top, so you can smell it once more before drinking. Little details like this made it feel like more than just drinking tea — you get to enjoy the aroma too.

Hojigabae is a menu combining hojicha (roasted green tea), coffee, and sweet cream — the bittersweet balance was genuinely delicious. It has coffee vibes while still keeping hojicha's nutty depth, so it's perfect for anyone who likes both coffee and tea. It's easy to see why it's considered Suwolgyeonghwa's signature menu.

The best dessert in the Dalbodre box
Among the K-desserts in the Dalbodre box, the ganache monaka was the best. Each of the other desserts had its own distinct character too, so it was worth trying a bit of everything. If you're looking for a Songjeong dessert café in Busan, definitely order the Dalbodre box.
Is Suwolgyeonghwa worth it? Final verdict

For anyone looking for a Songjeong café, a Haeundae ocean-view café, or a Busan ocean-view café, Suwolgyeonghwa is definitely worth a visit! Being built around Korean traditional tea and K-desserts instead of coffee is a clear point of difference from other cafés, and it has hanok-café aesthetics plus ocean views, sunset views, and beach-train views all in one — great for photos and just as good for a relaxed cup of tea. Both the Ruiwolju and hojigabae were satisfying. It's a 1-minute walk from Songjeong Beach so it works well as a stroll stop, a Busan date course, or a Busan must-visit spot, and with its traditional tea and hanok vibe, it'd be perfect to bring your parents along too!
