Jusindang Gangnam is a cocktail bar near Gangnam Station in Gangnam, Seoul, with a Dragon Palace-inspired setting. I visited for the second round of a friend’s birthday, tried a zodiac signature cocktail and a New York Sour, and checked out the saju content through the table QR code. Verdict: a fun, atmospheric place for a group night out.
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, one minute from Sindang Station Exit 7. We ordered one portion each of gopchang, daechang, and makchang, plus kkakdugi yangbap, while the staff handled the grilling. Verdict: the sweet beef makchang lingered in my mind until dawn.
Sudowonui Bimil Jeojanggo is a monastery-themed bar in Jongno, Seoul, serving craft beer and food. Over a second round of drinks with a friend visiting Korea, I enjoyed IPA, ube beer, and arugula jambon pizza more than expected. Verdict: I’d happily return for atmospheric beers in Jongno.
