Why the avocado burger at Burgiz Daeheung on a Monday after work

On a Monday evening after work, I had an avocado burger at Burgiz Daeheung, a handmade burger place in Daejeon. I'd watched the variety show Nidonnaesan (니돈내산), where Jonathan eats four burger patties after a workout, and decided right then that tonight's dinner was a burger :) And it was burger, through and through!

After a tasty burger at Burgiz Daeheung, I went to Sungsimdang (Daejeon's famous bakery) for a little bread shopping, then headed home. I never expected Sungsimdang to be this crowded on a Monday evening! There was no line for the cakes, though.

Burgiz Daeheung location and hours

Burgiz Daeheung is at 38 Daeheung-ro 139beon-gil, Jung-gu, Daejeon (1st floor), a two-minute walk from across the street from Sungsimdang Boutique Cake, toward Daeheung-dong Cathedral. It's open daily 11:30-21:00 with last order at 20:30, and offers delivery, takeout and group orders.

If you're looking for a good place to eat near Sungsimdang, I recommend Burgiz handmade burgers. When you want a handmade burger in Daejeon, Burgiz is the one! Besides Daeheung, there are branches in Noeun, Tanbang and Gwanpyeong!

What's the atmosphere like at Burgiz Daeheung?

Burgiz Daeheung opened recently, so it's clean and tidy, super fresh-feeling ;) It was dinnertime and busy, and there was even a foreign guest eating solo. Apparently Burgiz is a Daejeon burger place recommended by the American YouTuber Austin. The owner and staff were great too.

There's a spot inside to wash your hands... such a thoughtful touch. Next to it were ketchup, mustard and hot sauce, and I planned to grab some when my burger and fries arrived, but the burger was so good I forgot the sauces.

Drinks are self-serve, burgers come to your table

At Burgiz Daeheung, a staff member checks your order and brings a cup of ice, and you help yourself to the drinks :) I mixed Dr Pepper Zero with Sprite and it turned into beer, hahaha

They bring the burger to your table! No buzzer.

Avocado burger with a fried egg added: how does it taste?

At Burgiz Daeheung I ordered the avocado burger with a fried egg added, plus a salad and original fries. I was torn between the avocado and mushroom burgers, but I went with fiber-rich avocado and added a nutritious fried egg! Perfect carbs, protein and fat.

There was a salad on the menu, so I added one! A salad before the burger is my appetizer. You can add chicken as a salad topping.

The Burgiz avocado burger comes with avocado, bacon, ranch sauce, a juicy patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and grilled onion.

It's perfect not just in looks but in taste...★ The bun is a brioche bun, so it's fluffy, soft and nutty too.

The Burgiz salad with fried broccoli

The Burgiz salad had fried broccoli in it. I ate the fiber-packed salad first, then the burger :) Wow... this is so good? Even people who don't like broccoli would definitely love it.

Original fries = regular french fries. I was torn between these and the pepperoni fries and ordered the set, but the pepperoni ones are still floating in front of my eyes, hahaha

Would I go back to Burgiz Daeheung?

The avocado burger at Burgiz Daeheung was exactly the handmade burger I wanted. The patty was gushing with juice and tender, and the sauce was perfect. I inhaled it. Eating a burger fresh out of the kitchen made it even, even better :) Delivery would probably be good too, but a freshly made burger is on another level.

Now I'm curious about the signature Hangover burger too. A juicy patty + hash brown + soft-yolk egg with spicy BBQ sauce, what a combo. Should I go again tomorrow..?
