Why I settled on Banana Brow in Seo-gu, Daejeon for my straight lashes

I get lash perms regularly, and I think I've finally found my regular place: Banana Brow in Goejeong-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon ;) My lashes are seriously straight and I couldn't find anywhere that did the softening step well, so I was a lash perm nomad around Daejeon. Now I'm finally settling down. This was my third visit to Banana Brow.

Where is Banana Brow, and what are the hours?

Banana Brow, a top lash perm spot in Seo-gu, Daejeon, is near the Goejeong-dong Community Service Center, at 73 Goejeong-ro 98beon-gil, Seo-gu, Daejeon (1st floor of the Joeunachim building, Goejeong-dong). It's open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday to Sunday 10:00–16:00.

Inside Banana Brow and the waiting area

Right when you walk in, Banana Brow has a waiting area and a powder room! It was pouring that day and I was worried the bus would be late, so I arrived a bit early, and the previous customer must have finished early because I was shown in right away :)

The layout at Banana Brow has changed since my last visit :) This layout looked much roomier.

They use disposable pillow covers and swap them right after each treatment! The bed and pillow are so comfortable that I pass out every time. Sleeping like a babyyy,,, I think I snored a little this time, maybe?

Banana Brow membership and lash extension and perm menu

The Banana Brow membership is ₩150,000 with ₩20,000 added credit, and it's valid for 6 months. Switching to LED extensions costs an extra ₩20,000 and can only be added to extension menus.

LED extensions

LED extensions hold better than regular extensions. They resist oil and sweat, so they're highly recommended if you were disappointed by how long your extensions lasted. They use a UV-free LED extension machine, so you can get them more safely, they say.

Curl and thickness by extension menu

• Natural extensions (innocent look): a natural, "did she or didn't she" style; JC to D++ curl available; done with thin 0.15T lashes (thickness can't be chosen)
• Defined extensions (make eyes look bigger): the signature treatment for a clear, sharp eye line that cuts makeup time; JC to D++ curl at no extra charge; 0.15T, 0.18T, 0.20T and 0.23T thickness available
• Double extensions (200%), defined and full at once: recommended if you have sparse lashes or find the defined extensions a bit lacking; takes 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes depending on your lash volume, so book a slot with 2 hours free; JC to D++ curl at no extra charge; 0.15T to 0.23T thickness available
• Idol mascara extensions: basic extensions clumped together with serum for even more defined, vivid eyes; JC to D++ curl at no extra charge; 0.15T to 0.23T thickness available
• Y-curl and W-curl: highly recommended if your natural lashes are weak or sparse but you like full, long-lasting, glamorous extensions; they work magic to make eyes look bigger; JC to D+ curl at no extra charge
• Brown lash: strongly recommended when you want a slightly different mood; done in dark brown; JC to D curl at no extra charge; 0.15T and 0.20T thickness available
• Perm and extensions together, perm point extensions: recommended if your lashes are short or you want the perm to show more; takes 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, so you can book a slot with 2 hours free
• Triple extensions (300%), three lashes on each natural lash: the boldest extension at Banana Brow, extremely dark; JC to D++ curl at no extra charge; 0.20T and 0.23T thickness available

(Note) Perm point extensions hold less well if there's still perm effect left, so they last best when it's been at least 3 months since your perm, and touch-ups aren't possible, they say.

Lash perm menu

• Signature Banana Perm: a no-glue perm with 1 added clinic treatment; said to last about 2 months
• Plump, glossy, moist Pudding Perm: a no-glue perm with 1 clinic treatment + 1 nourishing treatment added; with nourishment, the perm is said to relax cleanly as it fades and the lashes look plump and bouncy
• Black tinting "soot" perm: 1 clinic treatment + 1 nourishing treatment + black tinting combined; recommended if you want slightly more defined, darker lashes

• 2-week touch-up: half the regular price
• 3-week touch-up: half the regular price + ₩10,000
• Design extensions: price varies

To make a lash perm last longer, following the aftercare rules matters, but using a lash serum every single day also makes your lashes healthier, so the perm takes better and lasts longer!

What did my black tinting perm look like at 3.5 months, before the redo?

I got my black tinting perm at Banana Brow 3 months and 2 weeks ago, and for 3 months in, my lashes are less frizzly than I expected! For the record, I didn't brush my lashes or apply the perm nourishing serum every day (T_T)

Black tinting perm U-curl process for straight lashes

This time too I got the black tinting perm with a U-curl at Banana Brow, and the owner designed the curl so it looks pretty without touching my eyelid :) I was curious how a lash perm is done, so I asked her to take photos haha

Black tinting perm results on straight lashes

Ta-da, the U-curl black tinting perm is done! My lashes are super strong and straight, so the owner told me she spent a good while on the softening step again. I passed out the moment I lay down, so I don't remember a thing (T_T) Luckily, she said my lashes are in healthy condition!

With a black tinting perm, my eyes look defined as if I'm wearing mascara even with a bare face and no makeup, so I get it every time! It's a little pricier than the basic lash perm, but it includes a clinic treatment + nourishment + black tinting, so I think it's worth it!

Banana Brow lash perm aftercare

• You can wash your face after 3 hours (water only; no soap-based cleansing such as foam or oil cleanser)
• Rubbing your eyes or pressing on your lashes (for example, sleeping face down) can distort the curl shape
• No eyelash curlers or heated lash curlers
• Brush your lashes with a brush at least once a day
• Applying lash essence (nourishing serum) steadily at least twice a day keeps your lashes healthy, so the curl comes out well and lasts longer at your next perm
• A lash perm lasts 3 weeks to 1 month (depending on the person)
