Where is Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch, and how do you park?

Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch (핵밥 건대본점) is on the 2nd floor of a building about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Konkuk Univ. Station. The signature menu is rice bowls, miso ramen and tonkatsu. If you're after a solo meal, a lunch, or good value in Konkuk, then Hekbap it is! Easy to get to, and since it's on the 2nd floor, you can spot it right away!

There's no dedicated parking lot, but you can use the Lotte Department Store Konkuk Star City parking lot for up to 2 hours free through the department store's app, or the Konkuk University Hospital lot, which is free for 30 minutes and then ₩500 per 10 minutes!! Good to know if you're coming by car.

Konkuk is honestly a place with nowhere to eat lunch, haha :( Does everyone only go to bars? So when I want a hot meal, I dash over to Hekbap 💨🏃‍♀️💨

The interior is clean. Maybe because it's a franchise, the decor is tidy and bright. The tables are spaced well enough that you don't have to worry about the next table.

What did we order at Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch?

Hekbap is famous for its rice bowls (donburi), but this time I wanted something with hot broth, so I ordered the miso ramen. My boyfriend had the signature rice bowl. If you want a filling, tidy meal in Konkuk, the miso ramen here seems like a perfectly satisfying choice too. Check out the menu here! 👏👏👏

A review-event drink too, two dishes under ₩30,000

Hekbap even has a review event with a drink! Prices are scary these days, but if you do the review event and take the upgrade, you can get two dishes for under ₩30,000, which is great value... ❤️❤️❤️

The inside is clean and the tables are well spaced, so it's comfortable for eating alone or with a friend. Food also came out fairly quickly after ordering, so it's easy to drop by even at lunchtime haha

How does the miso ramen karaage set taste at Hekbap?

I ordered the miso ramen as a karaage (Japanese fried chicken) set and it was totally loaded, haha. The toppings are really generous.. noodles alone would be meh, but there's meat, wood ear mushrooms and egg too. This is my Ichiran..

The miso ramen has a rich, miso-based broth that's salty yet nutty and nicely balanced, so I never got tired of it. The noodles had a good springiness that went well with the broth. The chashu (braised pork) was tender, and with egg, meat and other toppings in the bowl, it was a hearty, satisfying meal~~

The broth isn't harsh, so it's easy to enjoy, and I think it's great for a cold day or whenever you crave something warm haha It's a bit hot these days, though

How was the meat rice bowl set at Hekbap?

I ordered the meat rice bowl along with the miso ramen, and eaten together the combo was really good. The rice is piled with seasoned meat, which looked delicious just to look at, and the meat isn't salty at all, the seasoning is just right...!!!

One bite and the sweet-salty sauce goes so well with the rice!! The meat was tender and moist, not dry at all, and the portion was more generous than I expected, so it's perfect as a filling meal.

When you order the meat rice bowl as a set, you get udon too, which is just right haha There's seriously so much meat, so you can go one bite of rice, one bite of meat!!!! Taking a spoonful of the miso ramen broth every now and then cleanses your mouth, so I never got sick of it and enjoyed it to the end! It was so satisfying that I'd order the meat rice bowl again next time.
