Hyehwa play with no late entry and 4th-floor stairs: Oh! My Ghost
In short
NEW Oh! My Ghost is a comic horror romance play staged at Aruto Small Theater, near Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station in Daehak-ro, Seoul. The writer and her husband arrived 30 minutes before the show, sat in the second row, and checked the rules and facilities firsthand: no late entry or re-entry, a 4th-floor theater with no elevator, luggage lockers and a drink shelf. If you prepare for the rules ahead of time, NEW Oh! My Ghost is a Daehak-ro date play worth recommending for 90 minutes of laughs and scares.

What kind of play is NEW Oh! My Ghost?
NEW Oh! My Ghost takes a hugely popular TV drama and turns it into a play, billed as the first comic horror romance play in Daehak-ro. You can see it at Aruto Small Theater (아루또소극장) in Hyehwa, and I loved that you can watch a comic horror romance on stage. I enjoyed the drama so much too, so I was really looking forward to it!
How to book Oh! My Ghost and showtimes

- No shows on Mondays
- Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri at 7:30pm
- Saturday at 3pm and 6pm

The reviews were perfect, with top customer satisfaction scores, so I was really excited for this play!

Aruto Small Theater location, ticket exchange and seat assignment
Aruto Small Theater is very close to Exit 1 of Hyehwa Station on Line 4. Tickets can be exchanged from 1 hour before the show, and seats are assigned first come, first served, so I'd exchange early and then have a coffee or take a walk nearby for a date!

Why aim for the front: 30 minutes early still meant the second row
We arrived 30 minutes before the show and the front seats were already taken, but we got the second row! Haha. Having seen the play, though, I say go for the front row no matter what,,,, generous gifts come flying! Hahahaha I'm so jealous of the first row!

Aruto Small Theater entry rules: no late entry or re-entry
The box office opens 1 hour before the show, but the lobby only opens 15 minutes before! If you don't bring proof of your discount, you'll have to pay the difference, so please check.
Late entry and re-entry are not allowed. In a small theater, even a tiny sound or a little light can break the actors' concentration. NEW Oh! My Ghost also has lots of effects where ghosts flash in and the stage goes dark then bright, just like the drama, so outside light would really get in the way! It's announced in advance that refunds are difficult if you cancel or leave midway. If you have a weak heart, be careful,,, the stage changes suddenly and a ghost can appear right in front of you haha (laughing endlessly)

Once you're in, a line comes on: "Sorry, but you're already too late." And put your phone on silent! Turn off alarms, haha. Galaxy Watch, Apple Watch, turn the screen light off on all of them, haha.
Wristbands, entry slips and the lucky draw
When you exchange your Oh! My Ghost ticket you get a wristband along with an entry slip for a prize draw, and the prize is a cosmetics set. I was jealous of the lucky draw winners!

After swapping for the wristband, I read about the cast and the story. The drama ended quite a while ago, but the leads are still so strongly imprinted that you'll surely remember them all.

Review: 90 minutes of laughs, scares and romance
The Daehak-ro play NEW Oh! My Ghost gives you 90 minutes of lively acting, comic scenes, tense horror and warm romance all at once. The multi-role actor especially,,, was so funny, haha, I laughed and cried!!! It was the day I laughed the most ever. Thanks to him, thank you :)

Aruto Small Theater is on the 4th floor with no elevator
Aruto Small Theater is on the 4th floor and the lobby opens 15 minutes before the show, so head up on time. There's no elevator, so you have to walk up!

I sincerely recommend it to anyone who wants a special time in Daehak-ro, whether a couple's date or an outing with friends :)
Everyone remembers the drama Oh! My Ghost. The play ran at Aruto Small Theater in Daehak-ro until July 26, then came back with a new run of Oh! My Ghost~

Aruto Small Theater lobby: luggage lockers, drink shelf and merchandise
Fill out the entry slip you got when ticketing and drop it in, and Aruto Small Theater also has luggage lockers so you can store your things individually!

It's better than just a decent play, one that has a reason for coming back. It returned to Seoul after 5 years!

They sell Oh! My Ghost merchandise too.

There's a drink shelf too, so leave your drinks there. The inside of the theater is rather cramped, so it's hard to store big bags!
Who plays whom compared with the TV drama?
In the play he appears as Jaerim, but if you think of the drama, picture the male lead there. Jaerim's counterparts Hanbyeol, Taegu and Seonhwa are fun to match up with the drama's leads one by one, hahahaha. The show is for ages 12 and over, and the story has been newly renewed for the play.

Oh! My Ghost is about a woman who wants to recover her memories, a ghost who wants her wish granted, and a flustered man in between trying to work out what on earth is going on. The multi-role part is huge, and I'm amazed how they change clothes so fast and flash in from who knows where T_T

Lobby doodle zone, photo zone and restroom
The Aruto Small Theater lobby opens 15 minutes before the show, and there's a doodle zone where you can happily scribble. There's a small photo zone too!

There's a restroom in the lobby too, so I went back and forth comfortably.
The stage changes in amazing ways and it's so much fun. A show this wonderful and cheerful in a small theater, I seriously fell for it.

Can you take photos with the actors after the show?
There's no separate photo time with the actors after Oh! My Ghost, but they strike poses for you, so you can take photos!
To sum up my tips: a spoonful of cheerful horror where scares and laughs arrive together, an unpredictable woman and a flustered man, and a crazy-high-energy romantic comedy where the banter explodes. Relationships, memories, parting, and a warm afterglow at the end: NEW Oh! My Ghost was a 200% satisfying play.

There's not much of 2026 left, and if you want to make a special date memory in Daehak-ro with your sweetheart or friends, I think watching a fun play is a good idea.
Check the cast for each showtime
Each role has 4 actors cast and the ghost role has 5, so check the casting for your booking date. Personally, the actor playing Taegu on the day I went was seriously so funny, hahahahaha.

You,, can,, you see me?
My husband says he really hopes he can't see them, but he's joking, right? Haha. We cried and laughed and held hands tight through this fun play. For a Hyehwa play, a Hyehwa Station play or a Daehak-ro play, I recommend NEW Oh! My Ghost!
