Hyehwa adult play from the second-to-last row: Suspicious PT Shop
In short
Suspicious PT Shop is an 80-minute adults-only (19+) comedy playing an open run at Nine Theater, between Exits 1 and 2 of Hyehwa Station in Jongno, Seoul. Watching from the second-to-last row gave a full view of the stage, and Nine Theater's gym-themed photo zone, waiting area with a water dispenser and coffee machine, and cinema-soft seats all stood out. The verdict: grab the front row if you can, and expect a 19+ comedy with plenty of guaranteed laughs.

Hyehwa play recommendation, Daehak-ro theater recommendation @Suspicious PT Shop
Sometimes a normal date course just feels boring. Finding a good restaurant and sitting at a café for a long chat is nice, but every once in a while you need something new that'll actually stick in your memory (?).
There are countless shows in Daehak-ro, but the one I'm introducing today brings a totally different energy from your usual romantic comedy: Suspicious PT Shop 💪 Thanks to its unusual subject matter and bold direction that you don't run into every day, it's been the talk of the town. Definitely worth adding to your Hyehwa play recommendation list — here we go with the review‼️

This Hyehwa play recommendation, Suspicious PT Shop, is staged at Nine Theater, located between Exits 1 and 2 of Hyehwa Station.

Going down to the basement, there's a row of posters for Suspicious PT Shop. Go further in and you reach the ticket pickup counter.

Suspicious Hair Salon was the hit show that revived the adult-play boom in Daehak-ro, and Suspicious PT Shop has picked up the baton as its follow-up.

Gym photo zone and the waiting area with a coffee machine
There's a photo zone in the ticket pickup area of Nine Theater, and since Suspicious PT Shop is mainly set in a gym, the photo zone is styled like a gym too — that's the fun part. There's also a waiting area right in front of it, so with some time to spare I sat down and waited. As showtime got closer, all the seats filled up and a lot of the audience ended up standing while they waited.
The best part was that there's a water dispenser and a coffee machine, so you can drink water or coffee while you wait — that's a huge perk.

Nine Theater seating chart, booking tickets and why the front row wins
Looking at the Nine Theater seating chart, it's a small theater, smaller than you'd think, so it seemed like even the very back row would still have a good view.

Ticket prices are listed too, and you can buy them through Naver or Coupang. (A tip: if you possibly can, sit in the very front row⭐️ You will absolutely not regret it.)

Just in case, I threw in an entry for the prize draw too~ (Please let me win!)

The ticket comes in a cute photo-card size, and our seats turned out to be second row from the back. It would've been nice to be in the very front, but watching the whole picture from the back isn't bad either.

What is Suspicious PT Shop about?
Set in a suspicious PT (personal training) shop on the outskirts of town, the story is a chaotic string of episodes. Outrageous incidents keep piling up nonstop between a fitness trainer and the gym members, and the real, line-crossing acting from the adult actors sends the audience reaction through the roof!

Watching 80 minutes from the second-to-last row: view and seat comfort
Small theater seats in Daehak-ro are usually hard, but I loved that Nine Theater's seats are as cushioned as movie theater seats. You can stretch your legs out fully too, so your seat never gets uncomfortable over the 80 minutes and you can just relax and watch.
My verdict after watching Suspicious PT Shop: the label "39+ comedy, beyond just 19+" fits perfectly — bold and unfiltered humor is exactly what it's about.
The actors' acting is solid too, so the immersion is impressive, and the 80 minutes flies by at a crazy pace before you even notice. It's not just about showing racy scenes for their own sake — the laugh points really land, which makes it a top pick for anyone looking for a Daehak-ro play recommendation.

Photo time with the cast after the show
After Suspicious PT Shop wraps up, there's a photo time where you can take pictures with the cast. I'd highly recommend this show if you want a good laugh and to blow off some steam. Come with friends or your partner for a proper dopamine-hit kind of night.
