Nail & Style (네일앤스타일) is a nail salon on the 2nd floor of Building A at WesternDom ("Wedom"), by Jeongbalsan Station in Ilsan. This year it turns 20, so it's basically the longtime fixture of Ilsan WesternDom!

Is there parking at Nail & Style in Ilsan?

Yes, you can use the WesternDom parking lot, so parking is easy. There are so many nail salons around Ilsan and Jeongbalsan, but not many with free parking, right? ㅠㅠ Since this is WesternDom, the lot is huge and pleasant.

(I had a 2-hour treatment and they generously registered 4 hours for me. Awesome~) When you head to the salon after parking, taking elevator no. 15 or 16 is the easiest!

Can solo visitors get treated in private?

The shop is big, so several people can be treated at once, and solo guests are seated in a private booth. I'd walked past this 20-plus-year-old Ilsan salon many times and never realized how spacious it is! Since I came alone, I got my treatment privately in a booth.

How do you pick from the art boards at Nail & Style?

Under the many award trophies in the shop, there's the art board of the month. I think art is Nail & Style's biggest strength!

Every designer makes her own art board, so you can pick a designer by the style you want! (kitsch, wedding, simple, lovely, geek chic and more)

Why I chose lemoncore nails from the wedding nail specialist

I was treated by the wedding nail specialist at Nail & Style. And her art board... total artwork... it was so hard to choose...

I agonized between these two.. and went with lemoncore nails to match the current trend! (all art colors can be changed)

Once you sit down, they bring you a light drink, and a cold drink on a hot summer day was so nice.

How was my nail shape chosen? The wedding chart consultation

The wedding nail designer at Nail & Style does shape consultations with a wedding chart. After the cuticle work you have to decide the shape, and since it was my first nails in a year, it was hard to decide..

That's when she pulled out her wedding chart! As a wedding nail specialist, she designs shape, color and extensions to suit the venue, the wedding shoot and the dress! Mine aren't wedding nails, but seeing everything at a glance on the chart made comparing and consulting so much easier. Loved it.

An almond shape matched to my finger curve

I went with her special almond shape! Why is it special? I've been to so many nail salons, but this was the first place that custom-designed each nail so it looks straight, based on my finger shape and how my nails and fingers curve. A good base shape is what makes the art stick so well... and when the art is stunning after the shape work is done~

Ta-da! Lemoncore nails done 🍋💛 The camera can't catch the real color of the nails, seriously... no matter how I edit it, it never looks as clear as in real life ㅜㅜ

Even so, are these really the same hands? They look even better in person, and everyone I meet asks where I got these nails done!

Can you get foot care at Nail & Style too?

Nail & Style also offers German-style foot care called 'Repus' (레푸스). It's famous as an art-focused nail salon, but it also does Repus for foot care, so there's real expertise too!
