Dandae-ogeori chicken restaurant with a 1+1 set: Jangjakgun
Jangjakgun Main Branch is a wood-fired nurungji (crispy rice crust) whole-chicken restaurant a 3-minute walk from Dandae-ogeori Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, right across from Save Zone. On a weekday evening the writer took an outdoor table and ordered the 1+1 set — herbal nurungji chicken at 21,000 won and half-and-half nurungji chicken at 26,000 won — with draft beer, and the roasting left the chicken free of grease while the rice crust stayed crunchy. Jangjakgun works equally well for a family dinner with kids and a light round of chimaek (chicken and beer).
