Paju dog-friendly terrace café: three-peach snow bingsu, Fruit Forest
In short
Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store is a fruit bingsu café tucked inside the Simhaksan eatery alley on Dolgoji-gil in Paju, Gyeonggi. A couple ordered the peach snow bingsu (28,000 won) and an iced Americano (5,000 won), which came with a mix of firm peaches, soft peaches and nectarines over milk snow ice with a cheese topping, and they were told the Fruit Forest terrace welcomes dogs. Fruit Forest's peach snow bingsu has more fruit than ice, making it a great pick for fruit lovers.

Bingsu (Korean shaved-ice dessert) is one of the things I crave every summer. I'd been eating only red bean bingsu for a while, but recently I visited [Fruit Forest], a Simhaksan café that's already gaining a reputation as a top bingsu spot in Paju. They have all kinds of fruit bingsu: mango, melon, peach, injeolmi (roasted soybean powder), mixed fruit and more. We came for the peach bingsu, and I'm sharing my honest review of it.

Fruit Forest is a Simhaksan favorite, just a short way in from the eatery street. There's a standing sign by the road, and a wall sign with a mouthwatering picture of mango bingsu on the building, so it's easy to spot.

Parking, terrace and dogs
There's parking both in front of the building and behind it, so there's plenty of space and driving here is really convenient. The location is great too. With the Simhaksan trail nearby, a bowl of cold fruit bingsu after a walk is just perfect~~
There's a terrace outside, but on a really hot day indoors is the best~~~!! Once the weather cools down, I'd recommend grabbing a terrace seat~~ I didn't get photos of the terrace, but I heard dogs are allowed, so rather than the hot daytime, I'd suggest going around sunset.

What's the atmosphere like?
The moment we stepped in, I couldn't tell if it was a fruit shop or a café, because the place was full of fresh, sweet fruit scent,

I liked the bright, cool, comfortable interior, and the natural light pouring in through the windows put me in a really good mood.

You can buy fresh fruit in the store too
There were lots of good-quality, tempting fruits, plus plenty of mangoes, the most popular item here. You can pick out fresh fruit with guaranteed sweetness right in the store, so where else would you find a place like this~~~ haha

The yellow, nicely ripened mangoes looked fresh and delicious just to look at. Fruit Forest says it joins the first auction at the wholesale market every dawn, seeing and tasting the fruit itself and picking only high-sugar fruit. Fruit that comes in is ripened and then cut the moment you order, so freshness and sweetness are very good.

This is a top mango bingsu spot in Paju, but we decided on peach bingsu, and it was definitely an excellent choice. Another big plus is that you can ask about group orders, cup fruit and gift sets, which is good news for anyone planning an event~~

Peach snow bingsu, ₩28,000: how does it taste?
- Peach snow bingsu ₩28,000
- Iced Americano ₩5,000
I was totally hooked on peach the second I saw the menu. And just look at that presentation~~ Wow~~ The peaches were piled on so generously they seemed ready to spill over, and there was even peach purée between the layers of snow ice, so it was really colorful.

They cut the fresh fruit the moment you order, and their aim is to sell top-grade fruit fresh at a reasonable price.
It was even better because hard peaches, soft peaches and nectarines were all mixed together, and the ice was milk snow ice, which went so well with the sweet fruit.

The flavor of the salty cheese pieces placed on top made it all come together harmoniously. We found this place that day while searching for a Simhaksan café dessert, and I really, truly loved it.
What was a bit disappointing
The ice cream on top was chewy like gelato and tasty, but peach is already sweet on its own, and with ice cream and purée added, it was a little too sweet for me.

Also, there was more fruit than snow ice. I liked that, but my husband wished there were a bit more ice. But wouldn't most people prefer more fruit...?? Anyway, it's a matter of personal taste, so I respect that~~ haha

Is it worth going back?
Fruit Forest is a Paju bingsu spot that won me over: the generous fresh fruit paired so perfectly with peach that I want to try the mango, melon and mixed fruit too. Next time I plan to return for the one heaped with mango, and I guarantee you won't regret going with friends or family. Made with such fresh fruit, it blew away the summer heat in one go, and the peach bingsu in particular was a dessert that satisfied both the eyes and the taste buds.
