Ttukseom Station burger spot with no-salt fries for kids: Bas Burger

Living in Seongsu, on weekends or evenings when I can't be bothered to go far, I end up just searching 'what should we eat near home' a lot. This time too, we went to Bas Burger Seongsu near Ttukseom Station for a simple family meal.

We ordered a Mushroom Burger and a Hawaiian Burger, and at first didn't order fries separately since there are free chips you can eat in-store. But as we ate, we felt like it'd be nice to have one menu item our kid could eat too, so we added fries later on. Since it was for our kid, we asked for no salt — and it turned out to be way more delicious than expected...? So here's a Seongsu resident's review of Bas Burger, starting with the fries we almost regretted not ordering, all the way to the burgers themselves.

What is Bas Burger Seongsu near Ttukseom Station like?

Bas Burger Seongsu is near Ttukseom Station, so it's a convenient spot for a casual meal if you live in Seongsu like us. We came here that evening without planning to go anywhere far, just looking for something near home. Walking in, the atmosphere was more comfortable than expected, and you order via kiosk. There were quite a lot of menu options, so we spent a while deciding in front of the kiosk before ordering.

That day we chose a Mushroom Burger set (side - chili mozza cheese bar, drink - Bas Lager), plus a Hawaiian Burger combo.

How do the Mushroom Burger and Hawaiian Burger taste?

First, the Mushroom Burger combines mushrooms with the patty, which suited our family well since we like mushrooms in general.

Eating the patty and mushrooms together gave good depth of flavor, and true to a craft burger, one was quite filling on its own.

For the set side, we picked the chili mozza cheese bar instead of fries. It was good to snack on between bites of burger, and we paired it with a Bas Lager for our drink.

For the other order, we got the Hawaiian Burger combo. It's a different flavor combination from the Mushroom Burger, so ordering both and switching between them was fun. If two people are visiting, ordering different burgers each to share might be a good idea.

What surprised us at Bas Burger was that you can eat chips for free in-store! At first, we kept grabbing chips while eating our burgers and thought, 'we probably don't need to order fries,' so we didn't add fries with our initial order.

But eating with our kid, we felt it'd be nice to have one menu item they could easily pick at too. So mid-meal, we ended up ordering fries as an add-on.

No-salt fries for the kid: the order worth adding

Since our kid is still young, we try to limit salty food where possible, so when adding the order we asked, "Could you make the fries without salt?" They were able to make it without salt, which was better for eating with our kid. But... we almost regretted not ordering these fries, haha.

Freshly fried, so warm and crispy — and contrary to worrying they'd be bland without salt, they were just really delicious even plain.

We clearly added them for our kid, but I kept grabbing one after another too, haha. At first we thought fries wouldn't be necessary since there were free chips, but in the end, adding that order was really worth it. The free chips were crispy in their own way, and the warm fries fresh out of the fryer were a completely different experience — we enjoyed both. Next time at Bas Burger, I think I'll order fries from the start.

A Seongsu resident's verdict on Bas Burger Seongsu

Living in Seongsu, I've realized that while famous places worth a special trip are nice, the spots you end up thinking about often are the ones near home that are easy for a casual meal. Bas Burger Seongsu was comfortable to stop by whenever we craved a craft burger. There was plenty of variety to choose from depending on taste, like the Mushroom Burger and Hawaiian Burger, and having free chips was a nice bonus.

Most of all, since we visited with our kid and added fries later on, being able to order them without salt was convenient, and the fries being so much tastier than expected made it memorable. If you're near Ttukseom Station craving a craft burger, or looking for a Ttukseom Station restaurant for a relaxed meal, consider Bas Burger Seongsu. Next time we go, I won't forget to order fries from the start. :)
