Songdo rice flour bakery: BLT sandwich and white castella, Tomoru
In short
Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리) is a rice flour bakery near Triple Street in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, run by a Korean certified master baker. On a sweltering summer visit, the writer bought six items priced ₩2,500 to ₩6,800: a BLT sandwich, white castella, sweet red bean bread, a fresh donut, basil tomato bread and a milk loaf sliced to order. The writer also collected a rice flour bakery-tour stamp. Thanks to the chewy, nutty rice flour bread, Tomoru Bakery earned a 100% intent to return.

The tropical nights are making it brutally hot day and night lately, so please take care of yourselves 🌞 Not long ago I was in Songdo and stopped by Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리), a place anyone who loves bread has probably heard of at least once!

Is parking easy at Tomoru Bakery in Songdo?
Tomoru Bakery has a basement parking lot and covers up to 4 hours of parking. The underground lot is nice and roomy too, so parking was easy!!

The shop isn't huge, but it has a cozy, tidy feel! There are also about 4 tables outside. It's hard to use them in this heat, but on a nice day they'd be perfect for eating outdoors!
What makes Tomoru Bakery's rice flour bread different?
Tomoru Bakery is run by a Korean master baker (대한민국제과기능장), and you can try bread made with rice flour! Rice flour comes from an internationally patented new rice variety, a type bred specifically for flour and different from the regular rice we eat. That's why the baked goods are chewier, and since it's gluten-free, they say it's easier to digest!

How many kinds of bread does Tomoru Bakery sell?
The shelves at Tomoru Bakery were full of freshly baked bread, and every piece looked so tempting that I had a happy dilemma deciding for ages haha. Being an already famous bakery, customers kept coming in too!

The biggest plus of this Songdo bakery is that the variety of bread is truly wide!

From loaf bread to sweet dessert breads to cakes, there's so much that it's a feast for the eyes if you love bread ❤️ 🤍 💟

The cakes are good value too, so it would be a fine place to come for a birthday cake!

From burgers to croquettes, there were heaps of healthily made breads! I deliberated hard over everything and loaded up my tray :)

Can you eat in with coffee at Tomoru Bakery?
Tomoru Bakery has tables indoors and outdoors where you can eat in, and it sells a good range of café drinks. Bread goes with coffee, after all!

A Naver review event and a bakery-tour stamp program are running too, so keep that in mind!

Oh! And after picking my bread, I noticed Tomoru Bakery is a "good shop" (착한가게) that gives back to the local community. A shop that shares like that deserves to do even better!!

Milk loaf slicing and the bakery-tour stamp at Tomoru Bakery
Tomoru Bakery will slice its loaves on request, so I had the milk loaf sliced and headed home!

The rice flour bakery tour looked fun, so I grabbed a stamp haha. Bread lovers, take note!

6 breads from Tomoru Bakery and their prices
These are the 6 breads I bought at Tomoru Bakery that day.
- BLT sandwich ₩6,800
- White castella (sponge cake) ₩5,000
- Sweet red bean bread ₩2,500
- Fresh donut ₩2,500
- Basil tomato ₩5,800
- Milk loaf ₩4,800

How does Tomoru Bakery's rice flour bread taste?
Maybe because it's made with rice flour, the chewy texture really stood out! The more I chewed, the nuttier the flavor got, and the natural taste of the ingredients came through, so I kept reaching for more!

Best of all, I could feel the care in every single bread! These aren't just pretty on the outside; you can tell they paid attention to the ingredients, the dough and the baking. Maybe that's why I was satisfied the whole way through, and I found myself thinking, "Next time I have to try the other breads too!"
If you like bread, I'd say it's a must-visit! You can find out for yourself why it's so loved as a signature bakery in Songdo. I'm 100% going back too! If you're looking for a tasty bakery in Songdo, I strongly recommend Tomoru Bakery ❤️
