Jamsil BYOB bar for Danyang beer and mala tendon hotpot: Wareureu
In short
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch (와르르맨숀 방이점) is a day-drinking bar at the entrance of Bangi Meokja Alley in Songpa, Seoul, near Jamsil, where corkage is free for one bottle, so a friend's Danyang beer was opened at the table. On a weekend afternoon the order was Sinan day-boat raw shrimp at 35,900 won (10 servings a day only), Sichuan mala beef tendon hotpot at 26,900 won and whole mozzarella fritters, and arriving before 7pm made 300cc draft beer 100 won per person. The beer glasses could have been cleaner, but Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch made a satisfying daytime beer spread.

It's shrimp season again and honestly my heart was racing. They were doing a limited run of Sinan day-boat raw shrimp sashimi, so I ran over to Bangi-dong on a weekend afternoon. Plump raw shrimp sashimi — how are you not drooling just thinking about it.

Wareureu Mansion is right at the entrance of Bangi Meokja Alley, so it was super convenient to get to!
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch, a Jamsil day-drinking bar open from 2pm on weekends
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch (와르르맨숀 방이점) opens at 2pm on weekends, so I'd recommend this new Bangi-dong bar to anyone who wants to day-drink.

One bottle of corkage free — we brought Danyang beer
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch offers one free bottle of corkage. My friend had gone to Danyang on Friday and brought back Danyang beer, so we did a little corkage with that bottle haha.

Inside the store and the seating
Wareureu Mansion is a new bar in Bangi-dong, but the interior was really pretty. It felt like the kind of place women would love. Even though it was a weekend afternoon, quite a few people were already deep into day-drinking.

There are window seats, booth seats with backrests, and hall tables, and they all looked comfortable. The window seats are on the second floor, so it doesn't feel cramped, and the view is nice too.

The bathroom is right outside, so I used it a few times to refuel with beer. Let me tell you right now why this is a great Jamsil day-drinking spot.
100-won draft beer if you arrive before 7pm
At Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch, draft beer is a whopping 100 won per person if you arrive before 7pm. Basically free. The size is 300cc, and additional orders are 1,900 won, so you can get two glasses for 2,000 won total. Seriously a Jamsil day-drinking gem.

On the side is the complimentary macaroni salad, which was so good we wiped it out in a flash. I thought about ordering more but since it costs extra, I decided not to haha.
Sinan day-boat raw shrimp sashimi, ₩35,900, limited to 10 servings a day
Finally, this year's raw shrimp!! Look at that plump, glossy texture. The shrimp comes fresh from Sinan that same day, already peeled and served ready to eat, but it's limited to 10 servings a day so you need to rush over.

Peeling raw shrimp is scary and a hassle, but here the shells were all completely off already — wait, isn't this basically a steal??

The shrimp heads are fried, so you can eat them crispy. Wow, no need to painstakingly peel shells like at a raw fish restaurant — it all comes fully set up, so convenient!!

Three sauces come with it — soy sauce, chojang (vinegared gochujang), and buldak mayo — plus baek-kimchi (white kimchi), seasoned laver, lemon, garlic, and chili. Baek-kimchi and seasoned laver were refillable.
First, dip the plump shrimp in soy sauce and go for it.

The shrimp heads pair perfectly with buldak mayo. Top some baek-kimchi with wasabi and eat it up.

Wrapping it all in seasoned laver with garlic and chili is also incredibly good. I properly devoured this year's raw shrimp. Just eating seasonal food alone makes you feel like you're living life right.

The baek-kimchi and seasoned laver were so good we asked for more!! Refills are free.
Sichuan mara tendon hotpot, ₩26,900, with tendon and bean jelly noodles
My friend, who has a mouth on fire for mala, ordered the Sichuan mara tendon hotpot. It has tendon in it along with mala broth. The vegetables were super fresh, and it even had bunmoja (glass bean jelly noodles) in it.

They give you peanut sauce and chili sauce together, and they told us to boil it on high heat for about 5 minutes before eating.
There were even more vegetables packed inside, plus napa cabbage and bean sprouts!! The tendon was super tender, and it was surprisingly a great match with the mala hotpot haha.
Whole mozzarella fritters + wedge fries
I finally got to try this trendy 'Chilis-style' dish everyone's into these days. It comes with wedge fries sprinkled with cheese seasoning, plus white sauce and sriracha mayo on the side.

They gave us tongs and scissors to cut it up, and the mozzarella cheese inside was completely packed in haha.

What we liked and what fell short
I was seriously full and meant to stop eating, but I ended up picking off a few more bites before finally wrapping up the feast. Ugh, eating just a little always feels unsatisfying, but eating like this leaves me feeling guilty too ㅜㅜ It's gotten so hot lately that this feels like a great spot for a cool beer in the daytime haha. Even during the day, the crowd kept growing, and the staff looked really busy.
What fell short: my beer glass had a lipstick mark on it so I asked for a new one, and the second glass also had a short strand of hair stuck to it — I picked it off and drank anyway, but my friend was not happy about it.
