Inside Shabu In Seoul Apgujeong Rodeo: private rooms and atmosphere
Shabu In Seoul Apgujeong Rodeo is on the 2nd floor, and it was a really elegant space. The tone is sleek and dark, so it's cozy, and with pin lights falling on each table, you can focus completely on the meal and conversation, with a fine-dining kind of mood.

It uses induction cooktops, so the shabu-shabu was enjoyable even on a hot day. The inside was comfortable and cool, so it was a clean, tasty meal even in summer at Shabu In Seoul Apgujeong.

There are separate room spaces, which made it even more private. Probably thanks to good ventilation, no smell clung to my clothes after eating, which I loved. The table setting was so neat, too.

There were 3 sauces in total, and they were really delicious.

They come portioned out so you only get what you'll eat, which is good for hygiene too.
How do you choose a menu and broth at Shabu In Seoul?
At Shabu In Seoul Apgujeong Rodeo you can enjoy shabu-shabu and sukiyaki.

You can choose from 4 broths, and if you order a set (jeongsik), you get a different finishing dish for each broth.

Today I ordered the Black Nine wagyu ribeye shabu for 2.
Black Nine wagyu ribeye shabu in anchovy broth: how does it taste?
The Black Nine wagyu ribeye shabu arrives with the wagyu ribeye and basic vegetables first, all very neat. I chose the anchovy broth, which they say is the best one. It's cool, clean and light, so anyone can enjoy it without any love-it-or-hate-it divide.

The meat quality was really good, so thin and tender that kids could eat it comfortably and enjoy it, I think.

The vegetables were fresh, and you get a good spread of bean sprouts, bok choy, napa cabbage, crown daisy, glass noodles and rice paper wraps, so there's lots of variety.

Adding rice paper wraps and rice noodles: portion size
Shabu In Seoul lets you request extra ingredients in the ₩2,000–₩6,000 range. Partway through we added rice paper wraps and rice noodles, and the amount was sooo big. The base portion is just right for 2 adults.
Since the meat is definitely Korean beef, it was really tender.. and nutty~

Adjusting the heat on the induction cooktop was easy and instant, so I could control how cooked everything got. The broth was so clear and refreshing~ The sauces are varied too, so eating is fun in different ways.

Egg porridge to finish the shabu-shabu
Above all, the egg porridge you cook after the shabu-shabu is the real deal haha

They take away the leftover food and top just the porridge with egg, perilla oil and a little seaweed,

so you can enjoy it clean and light.

What occasions suit Shabu In Seoul Apgujeong Rodeo?
Shabu-shabu is usually seen as casual, good-value food, but thanks to the tidy plating and the mood, Shabu In Seoul Apgujeong Rodeo felt like a fancy meal in a romantic, calm setting~

If you're looking for a calm, premium dining space where you feel looked after, I think you'll like it ^^
