What is Cartoon Plus Jamsil and where is it?

Cartoon Plus Jamsil is a comic café (manhwa café, where you read comics in private rooms) roughly halfway between Jamsil Saenae Station and Sports Complex Station. The weather had turned pretty chilly, so we went for an indoor date at this Jamsil comic café!

We went on a weekday, so it wasn't crowded and we could relax, which I loved. Since it sits between Jamsil Saenae Station and Sports Complex Station, it's easy to get to, and there are lots of restaurants nearby.

Right after you walk in, there's a kiosk: press "check in" and choose a plan. Then the shoe locker opens automatically! So cool, this Jamsil comic café was full of surprises.

We picked the 2-hour plan with a drink included. If you stay longer you just pay extra for the extra time, so we didn't think too hard about it.

Room types and facilities at Cartoon Plus Jamsil

Besides the cave-style rooms (togul-bang), there are all sorts of other rooms, and most of them let you watch OTT streaming services. There's also a Nintendo room where you can play Nintendo games.

Honestly, the full-body massage chair here is insane 👍 Getting a cozy massage in a room with sunlight streaming in would be pure heaven.

Is there a big selection of comics and board games?

I've been to plenty of comic cafés, but this is the first with such a huge range of comics 👀 They have almost everything, even titles you can't find elsewhere. Cartoon Plus Jamsil!

They also have popular board games of every kind, but there were only two of us, which was a shame. Board games are always more fun with more people! From Halli Galli, the basic of basics these days, to my favorites Bohnanza, Dixit and Rummikub, plus some hard-to-find games, so good! It's nice to try new board games.

Are there blankets, outlets and a phone charging zone?

There are plenty of blankets in case you get cold, and every room has an outlet. That alone would be fine, but there's even a phone charging zone just in case, which shows real care for guests and made me happy. They have pretty much everything, so you can show up empty-handed and still enjoy it all 👏

Reading My Hero Academia and One Piece in a cave room

I picked a cave room and brought over my favorite comics. My Hero Academia ("Nahia" for short) has become my favorite anime! Honestly I thought they'd only have the main story, but I was surprised that they have every volume, side stories included. Truly the number one comic café in Jamsil, Cartoon Plus 👍

My boyfriend grabs One Piece every single time we come to a comic café... I asked if it's fun to reread the same thing again and again, and he says yes. After about an hour of reading we got a little peckish, so we decided to grab a quick bite.

Ramyeon with free toppings and eggs at Cartoon Plus Jamsil

They have all kinds of ramyeon (Korean instant noodles), so you can pick the ramyeon and snacks you want. It looked so much like a ramyeon shop that I wondered if I'd come to a comic café at all! There were so many snacks and ramyeon varieties that choosing took over 10 minutes, haha. And in the fridge there are free toppings and eggs for your ramyeon! Free eggs, can you believe it? If it were near my home I'd be here every day 🥹

You cook the ramyeon yourself, like at the Han River ramyeon stations, and the smell wafting up while it boiled whetted my appetite so much I was going crazy, haha. I wanted mine clean and simple, so I added nothing, but my boyfriend brought one of every topping and loaded his bowl as much as he liked. I was happy that the toppings were thoughtfully prepared at this Jamsil Saenae comic café.

Is Cartoon Plus Jamsil a good indoor date spot in Jamsil?

We ordered tuna gimbap (seaweed rice roll) along with our ramyeon, cooked the noodles ourselves, and carried everything back to our room. You can read all sorts of comics and fill your stomach too at this Jamsil comic café. If you're looking for a comic café or an indoor date spot in Jamsil, Jamsil Saenae or Sincheon, I recommend Cartoon Plus Jamsil.
