Pohang crab restaurant, family of four sharing a set for 3: Gallilli
In short
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a snow crab and sashimi restaurant inside Jukdo Market in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. Four of us — two adults and two preschoolers — ordered the bakdal snow crab set for 3, which arrived with sashimi, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) and abalone, conch and sea squirt on the side, then finished with two orders of gaeddakjibap (rice mixed in the crab shell) and a complimentary seafood ramyeon. Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is an easy family outing where kids can try a little of every seafood on the table.

I felt like a trip to Pohang wouldn't be complete without snow crab, but I also wanted sashimi, seafood, and mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) all at once — so we headed to Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang in Jukdo Market.

What Jukdo Market in Pohang feels like
Arriving at Jukdo Market, the place was buzzing with that unmistakable market energy — it genuinely felt like stepping into a living, breathing city.

Voices calling out from every direction, people bustling past — it really put me in a proper travel mood.

We visited as a party of four — two preschoolers and two adults — and ordered the bakdal snow crab set for three.

It's set inside Jukdo Market, so it wasn't hard to find.

The dining room was quite spacious, and more than anything, the staff were so friendly that I felt good the whole meal.

Going with preschoolers, and where to park
There's a tank right out front of Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang, and the moment the kids spotted the giant crabs inside, they got so excited they stared for ages. They were so thrilled they even broke into a little crab dance ♥
I'd heard Pohang locals are kind, and I really felt it that day.
As for parking, the line at the Jukdo Market public lot was way too long, so we used a private lot nearby instead. When I mentioned it to the owner, he deducted ₩2,000 off our bill for the parking fee. He said he'd normally take off the price of one crab roe rice, but we'd ordered two.

What's in the bakdal snow crab set for 3
The bakdal snow crab set for three was generous — it wasn't just crab on its own, it came with sashimi, seafood, and mulhoe as well, so we got to eat a bit of everything.

The side dishes that fill the whole table
The side dishes were the first thing that caught my eye — rather than the usual banchan, the table was loaded with abalone, conch, sea squirt and more, the kind of seafood spread that's hard to get all at once back in Seoul.

I love seafood, so picking through each one was properly fun — and it wasn't just an impressive-looking spread, it felt packed with flavor and nutrition too.

Bakdal snow crab served already shelled
The crab came already shelled, which made it easy to eat, and pulling the leg meat out, it was satisfyingly plump.
Our kids love crab too, and once I picked the meat out for them, they ate it right up.
Having it prepared by an expert's hands really made eating so much easier.
Unlike regular crab where you work hard for little meat, this time we properly filled up on plump crab meat.
For all the effort of picking it apart, it was definitely a meal that delivered on the fun of eating.

Sashimi and mulhoe: the one thing to order in Pohang
With sashimi added to the table too, things got really abundant. The sashimi was fresh and chewy, so I kept reaching for one more piece.
And what we especially loved was the mulhoe.

With a bit of shaved ice on top, it was cool and tangy — and it was so good that partway through the sashimi, we started dunking more of it into the mulhoe. If you're in Pohang, you really have to have mulhoe.
Alongside the sashimi came a variety of seafood like abalone and conch too, and before long the table was piled high from all the picking. Being able to try a little of everything made it a great family meal with the kids.

Gaeddakjibap, rice mixed in the crab shell
After the crab, we ordered crab roe rice too — it felt like a shame to skip it after a crab meal.
Mixed with the rich, savory crab tomalley, the rice kept us reaching for more.
Our preschoolers each held their own little crab shell of rice and ate it up, which was just adorable.
Joining the event for a free seafood ramyeon
We joined an in-store event and got a complimentary seafood ramyeon. Even though we were already pretty full, the warm, spicy broth had us digging in again. We finished it all off to the last bite before heading out.

A walk to the fish market harbor after the meal
Walking out toward the fish market harbor, the Pohang sea opened up right in front of us, with boats bobbing gently on the water — such a pretty sight.

Staring at it for a while, all the pent-up stress just melted away and I felt this refreshing sense of release.

It was a moment where I thought, I'm really glad we came to Pohang.
