Hello, it's Kim Letto! Haewoldang, my mom's favorite café that we often visited together, has reopened as Café Choi, so I went to check it out. Parking is easy, the bread is good, the space is huge (and the view is pretty), and the elevator works well, so it's great with a baby. It was still a very satisfying café near Busan, so let me introduce Choi in Hopo!

Choi Main Branch in Hopo: location, hours and parking
Café Choi Main Branch, Hopo / Open daily 9:00–21:50 / Directly across from Hopo Station (just over the pedestrian bridge) / The parking lot is really roomy, and an elevator connects the lot to the shop

Inside Choi Main Branch: why it's a truly large café
Unlike other places that only pretend to be large cafés, Choi is a really, truly large café!! (Here's the proof.) The seating has lots of different spots. There's even a grandstand-style area like this (and fyi, photos taken here make your legs look long).

There are also about 20 plush sofa seats that fit up to 6 people,, (on weekends these fill up first, and the sofas are so comfy that I get why). I visited at night so I couldn't see the view, but if you go during the day, the Nakdong River view and fresh greenery should be really pretty! Be sure to visit in daytime and claim a window seat ☀️

There are large tables for groups and kitschy paintings on the wall. The mood changes completely here, doesn't it? I think this is something you only get in the interior of a really big café!

The center is opened up to the first floor, so it feels airy. The colors of the plastic chairs and tables are unique and the vibe is kitschy, which catches the eye!
Choi's 9 best bakery menu items
When you visit Choi, you see so many delicious breads that you can't decide what to eat,

If you're indecisive like me, check out Choi's best menu items!
- No. 1 croissant
- Choi bread
- Haeleulpumeun Dal (Haepumdal)
- 72-hour panettone
- Mont blanc
- Korean beef bulgogi croquette
- Red bean bun
- Green onion salt bread
- Six-clove black garlic bread

☀️🌙 The naming brings to mind both Haewoldang and the drama Haepumdal (The Moon Embracing the Sun),, and of the Haepumdal set I decided to eat only the moon! Dal (Wol, moon): a pastry with a crackly crust, packed with diplomat cream and stewed apples...?

And then there are so many kinds of bread,, red bean buns your parents would love, croquettes the kids would like, mocha buns and mont blanc that everyone enjoys, so no matter who you come with, there's no need to agonize 👍🏻 I've loved the six-clove garlic bread since the Haewoldang days, so I picked the six-clove black garlic bread again without a second thought! (I also picked the JUST Chestnut milk bread and apple pie that peek into the photo a little.)

How much are Choi's whole fruit cakes?
Oh, and they sell whole cakes loaded with fruit too~? The peach whole cake looked so good, and there's a mini size for under ₩30,000 (mini ₩27,500 / No. 1 ₩39,000 / No. 2 ₩45,000), so next time I'll definitely buy a cake to take home!!! If you're looking for a same-day whole cake in Yangsan or a reasonably priced fruit cake, I recommend Choi sooo much! 🎂
Review: six-clove black garlic bread, Wol and JUST Chestnut milk bread
So what did I order, you ask? Six-clove black garlic bread, Wol, JUST Chestnut milk bread and apple pie, plus peppermint tea and watermelon juice.

If you can't finish, you can pack leftovers at the self-packing counter, so I ordered plenty ^.^ (But it was so good that there were no leftovers.)
- 🧄 Six-clove black garlic bread: crackly texture with cream cheese, a great combo
- 🌙 Wol: soft and very sweet

🌰 And this is the JUST Chestnut milk bread I took to go,, they said they dumped Gongju chestnuts in and made it into milk bread, and it was true,, it's packed with chestnuts and the chestnuts were so sweet!!
Why Choi is a great café near Busan to visit with a baby
☑️ I've been more than 5 times since the Haewoldang days, and is it just me or did it get even more delicious after becoming Café Choi~? Parking is still easy, the staff are friendly and the bread is good, so whenever my family wants a large café, I think we'll go to Café Choi in Yangsan, near Busan~
If you want a café near Busan that you can reach by subway, where you can take a stroller by elevator from the parking lot, and where you can enjoy a Nakdong River view, I recommend Café Choi~~
