In short
Pho Bay Seogwipo Seohong-jeom (포베이 서귀포 서홍점) is a Vietnamese pho restaurant on Hongjung-ro in Seogwipo, Jeju. Craving hot broth during a long stay in Jeju, the writer ate alone and ordered the 1-person set (mini beef pho plus mini pineapple fried rice, 16,500 won) and cha gio (fried spring rolls) with shrimp balls (5,500 won), and the mini portions were generous enough that almost nothing was left. For solo diners looking for Vietnamese food in Seogwipo, the Pho Bay Seohong-jeom 1-person set is a satisfying choice.

Why pho in Seogwipo, of all places, on a Jeju trip?
During a long trip to Jeju, I got a craving for something hot and brothy in Seogwipo, so I headed to the Vietnamese pho restaurant Pho Bay Seogwipo Seohong-jeom (포베이 서귀포 서홍점). I'd been on a proper foodie tour, with black pork, raw fish and all sorts of other things, but after a full day of swimming and water fun, I wanted something light yet hot and filling. Pho, Vietnamese food, that was exactly it..?!?
Pho used to be my soul food!! But does it make sense to go to a pho chain all the way on a Jeju trip? I asked myself that, and then thought: I want it, and if it's tasty, that's all that matters, right? So I just went for it!!!! *.*

Pho Bay Seohong-jeom: location, parking and hours
Pho Bay Seogwipo Seohong-jeom is a 10-minute drive from Sinseogwipo and has free parking. It was near where I was staying in Seogwipo, so it was easy to reach by car, and the parking lot is well set up, so I had no trouble visiting!
They used to operate in the Sinseogwipo area and moved to the Seohong branch about 5 years ago. I heard it's a place with 20 years of know-how :)
- Hours: Mon–Sat 10:30–21:00 (last order 20:30)
- Break time: 15:00–16:00

What's the atmosphere inside Pho Bay Seohong-jeom like?
This Seogwipo pho restaurant is quite spacious and pleasant inside, and the tables are spaced widely, so it's great for chatting. It's also big enough for groups. The staff were friendly too, which I remembered afterward *.*

Eating alone? What I ordered: the Pho Bay 1-person set
Pho Bay Seohong-jeom has a 1-person set of pho plus fried rice, which is great for solo dining. I was happily torn over what to eat, but the moment I saw the 1-person set I ordered it without a second thought > <

- 1-person set ₩16,500 (mini beef pho + mini pineapple fried rice)
- Spring roll (jjajo) + shrimp ball combo ₩5,500
- Welch's soda ₩2,000
I meant to keep it simple with just the 1-person set, but I also ordered the side combo of spring rolls and shrimp balls *.*

Is the mini pineapple fried rice too small?
The mini pineapple fried rice in the 1-person set was so generous that I'd have believed it was a regular size! I hadn't had pineapple fried rice in ages, and the warm, grilled-looking pineapple with the fried rice was fresh and delicious haha
There was quite a lot, but it was so tasty I didn't want to leave any, so including the pho I finished almost everything *.*

How is the Pho Bay beef pho broth?
What I really wanted was piping hot beef pho!!! +_+ One sip of the broth and I was like, this is it~~~!! I was moved ㅠㅠㅠㅠ As you'd expect from what used to be my favorite soul food, the hot pho broth warmed my heart right up haha

I love both bean sprouts and onions, so I piled them deep into the broth while it was hot and ate them together!! > <
Honestly, I like Korean-style pho eaten in Korea better than the local pho you get in actual Vietnam haha. Pho Bay suits my taste too, so I've been visiting various branches for years :)
I never expected to eat Vietnamese food on a Jeju trip,, but it hit just when I needed it, and I could enjoy it so much that it was a happy time *.* I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good pho place in Seogwipo haha

How is the spring roll and shrimp ball side combo?
The spring roll and shrimp ball combo (₩5,500) at Pho Bay Seohong-jeom is a perfect side if you just want a taste of both. They're also sold separately, but I loved that there's a combo. When you can't eat a lot and just want a bite, it's literally the ideal side to order > <
Would I recommend Pho Bay Seohong-jeom for solo dining in Seogwipo?
Craving Vietnamese food on your Jeju trip?! Head to Pho Bay Seohong-jeom, a pho spot in Seogwipo!!! If you end up eating alone in Seogwipo like me, I recommend trying the 1-person set. The lineup is really solid and good haha
