Pepperoni-blueberry pizza at a Pocheon Italian restaurant: From Italy
In short
From Italy (프롬이태리) is an Italian fusion restaurant in Gomo-ri, Soheul-eup, Pocheon, near Gwangneung Arboretum, reportedly opened by a chef from a five-star hotel in Seoul. At From Italy, the writer had a pepperoni and blueberry half-and-half pizza (₩34,000) and the 1.5-serving zucca dolce, a pumpkin seafood pasta (₩37,000); the blueberry pizza topped with cream cheese was the most memorable dish. For pizza and pasta on a Gwangneung Arboretum date or family outing, From Italy's blueberry half-and-half pizza is the one to order.

What is From Italy (프롬이태리) in Pocheon?
From Italy is a restaurant in Gomo-ri, Pocheon, a great pick for a date near Gwangneung Arboretum and a great pasta spot too. I visited, and it suits couples and families heading out for a Pocheon day trip.
Word of mouth is spreading fast, and there can even be a wait at peak times, so it's a real Pocheon hotspot, and

the inside and outside atmosphere is really good, and from the inner garden to the food it's all excellent, so it's an ideal Pocheon restaurant ^^ It also has a large private parking lot.

Here begins my visit to From Italy, an Italian fusion restaurant run by a chef from a 5-star hotel in Seoul.
From Italy's interior and seating
The exterior is classic and lovely, but the inside is even more classic and a feast for the eyes.
Besides the main hall with the counter, there's a room further in, with a nice garden view through the windows and European-style antique furniture and decorations that I think will especially catch women's eyes ^^

The interior made me forget I was supposed to sit down and order. I spaced out for a moment, then pulled myself together and ordered~

What we ordered at From Italy
We ordered a half-and-half pizza for ₩34,000, zucca dolce for ₩37,000, grapefruit ade for ₩7,000 and zero cola for ₩4,000. I didn't manage to photograph the pizza side of the menu. Definitely get the pizza half and half! The blueberry is insanely good TTTT

- Grapefruit ade ₩7,000
- Zero cola ₩4,000

What is the 2nd floor at From Italy like?
The 2nd floor was the prettiest space in the building, from the photo spots to the interior and the view. While waiting for the food I spotted the stairs up and climbed them, and whoa??
Sitting by a 2nd-floor window must be amazing.. Next time I'm definitely sitting upstairs.

How does From Italy's chewy complimentary bread taste?
The bread served before the meal has a unique taste and texture somewhere between rice cake (tteok) and bread. It came out first with our drinks as an appetizer, soothing our hungry stomachs.
I heard it's aged for about 24 hours? It was unique and charmingly delicious. (It's quietly addictive, haha)

And then the 1.5-serving pasta and the half-and-half pizza, with two flavors in one, arrived!

How is the pepperoni and blueberry half-and-half pizza?
We picked pepperoni and blueberry for the half-and-half pizza. Blueberry is the signature flavor, so I chose it on a gamble, and the other half is pepperoni, which I usually love.
It was packed with pepperoni, so before even eating I was sure it would be delicious, and as a thin-crust pizza, the toppings taste stronger than the dough.
A blueberry pizza? Of course I wouldn't have chosen it if it weren't the signature. But there's a reason it's the signature. Plot twist: if I come back to From Italy, I'd order the blueberry pizza again!

The pepperoni tasted like the pepperoni we all know, but really good, and the blueberry pizza was topped generously with cream cheese, so the tartness and sweetness of the blueberries blended into a flavor I'd never had in my life. If you order pizza, blueberry is a must, and it was a huge hit for my taste.

What is zucca dolce pumpkin seafood pasta?
Zucca dolce (1.5 servings) is a pasta with a whole sweet pumpkin boiled in a tomato-based sauce, spaghetti inside and seafood all around. It really was a generous 1.5-serving size.

It's big, but the ingredients are also plentiful and fresh, and I think the fun of zucca dolce is lifting the pumpkin lid, eating the noodles, then breaking up the pumpkin to enjoy it together with the seafood.

Bacon, webfoot octopus, blue crab, mussels, scallops and more melt into the skilled chef's tomato sauce, so you taste the sea in a richer, more upscale way, and the noodles were chewy and really tasty ^^

What is From Italy's outdoor garden like?
The building's exterior, interior and food are all great, and with the outdoor garden at the back too, this was a flawless Pocheon restaurant.

I don't know whether you can eat at the outside tables, but just being able to stroll or rest in this space is healing in itself.

Is From Italy near Gwangneung Arboretum worth a return visit?
After trying the pizza and pasta, I'm curious about the other dishes at this Pocheon restaurant, especially the blueberry pizza, whose impact still lingers, plus the interior! Whenever I crave pizza or pasta, I want to run to From Italy~
