On a day trip out to Pocheon near Seoul, I finally visited Geurine Oasis, the large Pocheon bakery café that had been sitting on my café bucket list for ages.

Main building: where do you place your order?
Geurine Oasis is a genuinely huge Pocheon café, roughly split into a main building, an annex, and an outdoor zone.

Orders go through the kiosk. If the kiosk feels tricky, you can also order with staff at the POS set up near the bakery counter.

How the caffe latte and roll roll pastry taste

Geurine Oasis uses reusable cups, which is a nice touch for recycling. I added an extra pump of syrup to my caffe latte, and the mild coffee flavor combined with the sugar syrup made a sweet, satisfying pairing.
The roll roll pastry: the sugar powder and pastry texture worked well together, giving a soft bite with a subtle, gentle sweetness.
The annex: quieter seating at Geurine Oasis

Most people prefer the outdoor seats for the Gomori Reservoir view, so the annex is a better pick if you want somewhere quiet and cozy.

The outdoor zone: Gomori Reservoir lake views
The outdoor zone definitely catches the Gomori Reservoir view head-on, which is why so many people grab seats there. On weekends the outdoor zone is clearly the more popular, hotter spot.
The Gomori Reservoir view is calm and peaceful, and that's exactly what makes it good.
Even if you don't grab a seat in Geurine Oasis's outdoor zone, it's worth walking right up close to take in the Gomori Reservoir view directly.

The dog run: is Geurine Oasis dog-friendly?
What makes Pocheon's large bakery café Geurine Oasis special is that dogs are welcome.
A café with its own dog run — that's Geurine Oasis, right in line with Pocheon's identity as a dog-friendly tourist city. Sadly, on the day I visited there wasn't a single dog playing in the run... I really wanted to see some cute pups...
How fire-gazing reservations work
Besides gazing at the water, Geurine Oasis also offers fire-gazing (bulmeong) — apparently you can enjoy a romantic date watching flames flicker. Fire-gazing reservations are only available on weekdays, bookable via Naver Reservations or the in-store kiosk. Being able to do both water-gazing at the Gomori Reservoir view and fire-gazing at the same café feels pretty unique.

Why early autumn is the best time for the terrace
Geurine Oasis, Pocheon's large bakery café, was somewhere I'd wanted to visit for a long time — I was excited even before getting there, and once I arrived, sitting with the calm Gomori Reservoir view in front of me made for a great time.
Now, right after the brutal summer heat has passed, is exactly the best weather to enjoy the terrace seats. If you're on the fence about visiting Geurine Oasis, or found this post while searching, I'd especially recommend going right now. Once it gets a bit chillier the terrace will probably feel quite cold, so this really might be the optimal window — just my personal take. Visiting at exactly the right season made for a very satisfying trip to Geurine Oasis.
