Uijeongbu café with terrine-like Basque and cinnamon mocha: Forerest
In short
Forerest is a large forest-themed café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. The writer remembered the chocolate Basque cheesecake from a first visit, so they returned in the daytime and tried the matcha and black sesame Basque cheesecakes with a café mocha topped with cinnamon. Forerest is a Uijeongbu dessert café worth revisiting for its dense, terrine-like Basque cheesecake alone.

Forerest in Uijeongbu: a forest-vibe café that turns out to be a dessert spot
Forerest is a large café at 181 Nogyang-ro, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, open every day from 11:00 to 24:00. It has separate men's and women's restrooms, parking, and you can bring your pet.
If you're looking in Uijeongbu for a big café, a pet-friendly café, or a café with great dessert cakes, I really want to recommend this place!! Even the name gives off a forest feeling: Forerest. I liked it the first time too, but the desserts stuck in my mind so I came back.

The menu calls it Basque cheesecake, but the texture is closer to a terrine. If you want a Basque cheesecake that's really soft, dense and moist, I recommend this place! I know quite a few dessert and coffee spots, but... this one is truly a cake paradise!!
What is the atmosphere like at Forerest?
True to its name, Forerest is a café in Uijeongbu full of forest atmosphere. It feels a little different from the big cafés you usually see in the city. Trees and green scenery spread out around it, so it really feels like stepping into a forest. Honestly, every~where is forest.

Wood interior inside, outdoor seating in the daytime
The inside of Forerest is also built around a wood interior, and the warmth of the wood made it feel a bit like stepping into a cabin. If you prefer natural, comfortable spaces over flashy, glittery ones, it should suit you well. It was a nice place to get away from the busy city for a while and relax over a cup of coffee.
The first time I came at night, and staying indoors was nice but I felt a little disappointed. This time I came during the day, and lots of people were sitting outside. It really feels like being in a forest haha.

Forerest Basque cheesecake: chocolate, matcha or black sesame — which is best?
The chocolate, matcha and black sesame Basque cheesecakes were all good. I'd pick chocolate if you want something sweet, and matcha or black sesame if you want something cleaner. This dessert is the biggest reason I came back to Forerest.
If you expect an ordinary cake, the Basque cheesecake here may feel a little different. To me, the soft, dense, terrine-like texture was the charm. On my first visit I had the chocolate one and it was really, really good, so this time I picked matcha and black sesame.

Both the matcha and the black sesame are delicious!
- Don't like things too sweet and prefer clean flavors! → Matcha Basque cheesecake & black sesame Basque cheesecake
- Like sweet, milk-chocolate-like flavors! → Chocolate Basque cheesecake
Personally, I'll visit again just for the dessert.
How are the drinks at Forerest?
The drinks were satisfying too, though the latte and café mocha are on the mild side. When a café is famous for dessert but the drinks disappoint, it can be a letdown, but the drinks at Forerest were fine.
The latte is a little watery, so it might suit people who like a light latte? If you like coffee, I'd also recommend the iced americano or an ade (fruit soda)!
There's also a café mocha topped with cinnamon!! This one is unique haha. It's mild too.

When I visit a café, I care about the interior too, but in the end the places I want to go back to are the ones with delicious menu items. In that sense, Forerest suited my taste well.

Is Forerest pet-friendly, and is parking easy?
You can visit Forerest with your pet, and parking is easy, with room for about 50 cars. When you go out with a pet, even finding a café you can go to together isn't easy, and since this is a place where you can spend time feeling nature, it's a decent outing spot with a pet too. In autumn there are quite a lot of fallen leaves on the ground, so I'm not sure how that works out, a little bit...!
The parking area is fairly spacious, so it was great to come by car. There's no parking stress at all.

What to know before visiting Forerest at night
However, there is private land around Forerest, so especially when visiting or entering at night, it's best to check the signs around you and be careful.
Why Forerest is a relaxing forest café to visit in Uijeongbu
If you're looking for a forest healing café in Uijeongbu, Forerest isn't just a big café: the forest atmosphere, wood interior and tasty desserts all stay with you. I especially loved the Basque cheesecake. The staff were also really kind, so I was in a good mood the whole time I was there.
Recommended if you want to relax in nature, are looking for a café to visit with your pet, or love delicious terrine-style Basque cheesecake!
